Real Talking Time:
We are back at Nakatomi Plaza: this film remains to be a modern-day classic; let's start with
the cast: Bruce Willis as NYPD Detective John McClane: that has come to Los
Angeles California to hopefully get to the point of reconciliation with his
wife; Bonnie Bedelia as Holly Gennaro-McClane, a high-ranking Nakatomi
executive and a strong lady in her own right. But unfortunately/luckily the
Detective McClane is at the wrong time/right time to attempt to thwart this
terrorist takeover of the building led by Alan Rickman as Hans Gruber: a highly
intelligent, smartly dressed individual that under no circumstances should be
taken lightly and finally Reginald VelJohnson as Al Powell, an LAPD Sergeant:
that was on his way home to his pregnant wife before this entire situation
kicked off, but becomes a support to Detective McClane and good friend as well.
From beginning to
end this film doesn't stop; we have terrorists taking over the building
Detective McClane showing he has a sense of humour; the cleanest example of the
comedy I can use or adapt is where: he sends this dead terrorist down in the
lift with a Christmas Santa Claus hat on with a message for Gruber. For the
action and for one example Detective McClane gets annoyed on how things are
currently going, so he decides to send a little gift down in the form of a
computer, a chair with small wheels and oh yes did I forget to mention a lot of
C4 dynamite, as Detective McClane is a man of action and consequently impact,
there is one thing he didn't take the time to consider and that was the volume
of amounts, so obviously it is quickly made up explosive device went off, but
even Detective McClane had to somewhat had to jump for cover as the explosion
went forward but also up back through.
This film was
blessed with this cast with the names I have already mentioned and also
including the names I haven't, with Willis establishing himself as the icon
known as John McClane and not only that individually or together having Rickman
going up against him, but also Rickman establishing himself as an performer to
watch out for in the future as someone that as soon as his name is connected to
the casting people would at minimum keep an eye on the project in question: but
as Detective McClane and Gruber they just had perfect synergy, I mean this is
one of those times in cinema history where all the stars align in perfect order
to create this moment of time in history, culture, project and cast to create
this modern-day classic that if you can you need to watch it at a cinema or if
you have a cinema screen or equivalent of that at home I would recommend doing
that, I would still recommend going to the cinema to get that authentic cinema
experience regardless, because I can't tell you how much that I and the person
that I watch some authors contend with enjoyed the whole experience even though
we have seen this film plenty of times but this would be the first time on at the
cinema.
