On Cybertron: Iacon City: briefly; we meet these two robots; one by the name of Orion Pax/other name [voice by Chris Hemsworth:] he wants to do his best for Cybertron by locating The Matrix of Leadership and he has a best friend by the name of D-16/other name [voice by Brian Tyree Henry:] that basically believes in the wall around him; these two are minors doing their part for the collective of Cybertron, whilst Cybertron's leader, Sentinel Prime [voice by Jon Hamm:] he is the leader of this planet and he is searching on the planet surface for The Matrix of Leadership to restore Cybertron's power supply to it once plentiful resource. At one point or another we meet; Captain Elita-1 [voice by Scarlett Johansson:] she is a minor, but a higher level of minor, she is also career focused and she does like dealing with Pax and finally we will meet B-127/other names [voice by Keegan-Michael Key:] let's just say he on a very low level and consequently doesn't have much contact with others and boy howdy does it show as you will see when you go and see this film.
Generally speaking: the framework and pacing of this 104 minutes film is
really slow to begin with, but eventually it got straightening its feet.
Art, action and comedy at the beginning of this project
I was a little bit worried on what I was seeing; the mobility of these
characters; well if you have ever owned a PlayStation and/or PlayStation 2; you
would know that sometimes you head characters walking around with not the most
smoothest walking motion including but not limited to walking into walls; that
is what the kind of movement I am talking about in the opening section to this
project. But thankfully it stops being a problem more you head into the title.
Conversely we get this grainy effect of this back story; this is captivating
and from a visual perspective one of the highlights of this film. As you would
come to expect from this franchise, the action is consistent; but likewise it
does get better the more we progress through this title and for the comedy; I
may have laughed a few times, but the problem is; this is a problem when you
put a most of your comical bits in your trailers in some way or another, I mean
at some point we do get a Gobots reference.
Character developments and voice performances; the
character developments are all good, but however I do find the cast voice
performances to be this; a very mixed bag of indifferent to that is how they
should sound; Hemsworth as the voice of
Orion Pax/other name does very much come across as he is just speaking
normal, then maybe the most smallest of changes, when he goes through the changes, but you can still hear Hemsworth as Hemsworth [and yes on my limited knowledge of other Transformers cartoon TV
series of the modern day I am aware that sometimes they do this.] But if he is
going to be this iconic character then maybe this the sound people should have
robotic Hemsworth voice up a bit, if he couldn't do it himself or I should
hasten to add if this was even an option or discussed. For long-term
Transformers fans I wasn't expecting Hemsworth to at any stretchm to be anywhere
near the level of Peter Cullen [in a nutshell the original voice of the other
character which let's be honest turn into a legendary voice] and the same could
be said for Brian Tyree Henry as D-16/other character name, I had no illusions
of him coming anywhere near Frank Welker [likewise as the voice of the other
character turn into a legendary voice;] but either way some kind of attention
to this massive sticking point would have been nice.
I mean let's be positive for a couple of minutes; Steve
Buscemi as Starscream: he is the leader of the Cybertronian High Guard and
without giving too much away eventually he sounds like more like his old self;
they did the back story to why he sounds the way he does and then we have
Laurence Fishburne as Alpha Trion: he used to be one of the Primes, but now he
is ancient and wise and for those that may be getting concerned don't worry Jon
Bailey as Soundwave: he is a member of the Cybertronian High Guard: I can
confirm he sounds as he should, because if he didn't we were going to have
massive problems.
But hopefully you can now get a taste of at minimum the
mixed bag of voice performances; especially what with this being an animated
project you would think they would consider this to be a big component to the
product in question; based on voice, mannerism relating to your voice are
vitally important and so on and so forth
This film receives: 8/10, this film is excellent; now having said that it
does come with clearly some provisos such as I have just pointed out in this
content and now the biggest problem is minus the UK releasing this film on
11/10/2024 Australia Sydney released it in on previous and the US were nine
days later and somewhere between $75 million-$147 million it has only taken $99
million to to just break even they need another $48 million which is a very
tough ask. Full disclosure; I did hear little bits suggesting this before I
went to go and see this film, but then again I am going to go and see this film
twice as I bought two sets of tickets before seeing it once and I should just
give you a heads up there is two extra credit scenes one right at the beginning
of the ending credits and the other right at the end of the ending credits.
