Well this sequel was hardly going to work was it?: Briefly; after returning to work a few weeks after [the
previous instalment] FBI Special Agent Gracie Hart/other name [Sandra Bullock:]
is back at work, but now is struggling to deal with her celebrity status and
consequently putting any field work and colleagues in jeopardy because of it.
So she is offered the opportunity to be the poster person for the FBI and come
out with a book entitled "From
Misdemeanors to Miss Congeniality" and does the promotional tour,
including she has security detail in the form of FBI Agent Sam Fuller [Regina
King:] she doesn't have the best reputation across the board in the FBI as she
has in in short labelled difficult to work with in fact she and Special Agent
Hart don't exactly get along either, but then again it was either take this
opportunity or you can leave the FBI. But when Special Agent Hart's still
relatively new friend in trouble [familiar faces,] she is on the case with or
without Agent Fuller's help.
Generally
speaking: the script/storyline, character
developments, framework and pacing; will the script/storyline just doesn't work
on the grounds of roughly speaking for us it has been 5 years, but the
world but this film is in, it has been only months: it is an incredibly lazy
and garbage script/storyline if I was to be brutally honest and on top of that
we get some kind of level of reset as it relates to Special Agent Hart: would
means it shows that she has not learned very little from the previous
instalment, consequently the framework and pacing of this 115 minutes film is
tiresome.
Action, comedy and art; I mean the only thing I can
really point out in the opening section and then some is other than these two
agents fighting one another we also have the usage of this gun practice
elements were essentially if you're old enough you will remember seeing this
video game in the arcades: Mad Dog McCree 1990 [first-person-shooter:] where
you had a Western plot and you had a gun control and you have to take care of
business and don't forget to reload your gun by shooting off the screen, but what
we have here is basically is more of a present-day version with the fun aspects
taken out as it a piece of serious training equipment. Later on we have our two
agents trying to verbally assist another FBI personnel to escape with this
Intel as they individually tell him what to say in his ear pierced, but
eventually they fail, then we have this Tina Turner sequence; which is comical
and colourful and then finally we have this underwater sequence of events with
Special Agent Hart pushing this character into this water as she walks on by.
Character developments and performances; putting to one
side what I said earlier for a minute; as stand-alone character developments
they are; paint by numbers versions of what they are meant to be on all cases
and that reflects on to a vast majority of the performances as well; but at
least Bullock and King tried to put some enthusiasm into their personalities;
into their individual characters and/or this partnership; let's be honest this
partnership carries this sequel and it is a waste of their talents.
This
film receives: 4/10, this film is mixed; I
decided to award this project another mark based on as I have just illustrated
and said this partnership carries this project, so based on that they deserve
an excellent mark, there are some extra bits and pieces in the closing credits.
This film also has some awards to its name and no they are not all positive
ones; such as Positive: 2 Winners BET Awards 2005 BET Award Best Actress Regina
King Shared with: A Cinderella Story · Ray and Teen Choice Awards 2005 Teen

include but not limited to from the same award/ceremony Choice Movie Dance
