Warning:
there is flashing effects/colourful effects/burning/bodily functions/references
to sexual assault, rainbow community, racism, body shaming and this is one of
those occasions where I will be using adult censored language references in
this content, as you will see it is somewhat justified in my opinion.
Stay
away from this film by any means necessary: briefly; we meet Lucy [Dakota Johnson:] she many years
ago was trying actress, but in more recent times she works for the service
known as Adore Matchmaker, where she has been invited to a wedding of an
ex-client on her wedding day; where she meets Harry [Pedro Pascal:] he is
brother of groom at this wedding, he is a financier in the private sector
equity for his family's business and from out of nowhere John [Chris Evans:]
appears he is catering this wedding as he owns his own business film Stand
& Deliver, he is trying actor in fact he has written a play, he will be
performing it soon Oh yes did I forget to mention John is the ex-boyfriend of
Lucy's.
Generally
speaking: the script/storyline, framework
and pacing of this 117 minutes film; well the script/storyline is a hot pile of
manure within about maybe 15 minutes I was pretty much done with this project
and the person I watch some of this content with wasn't too far behind either,
as my first impulse was to leave but I stayed to get this content done, I found
the framework and pacing of this film to be straightforward, you know if I was
to put everything else to one side, there is nothing majorly wrong with the
framework and pacing it is just predominantly everything else
Comedy and art; no way in hell, I repeat no way in hell
is this comedy, in the meantime that I and the person I watch some of this
content with laughed was when Lucy and John were at this wedding and they both
divided some kind of commentary to this sequence of events, but again I cannot
stress this enough this is not a comedy even though on websites it tells you it
is some kind of comedy in some way or another: the decorations to this wedding
where these two provide this some kind of commentary; we hope these bulbs
lighting/decorations outside they were/are an elegant addition to this location
and ceremony.
Character developments and performances; well character
developments are absolutely manure, as someone that has mental health issues I
can tell you from meeting other people with mental health issues; that Lucy is
a sociopath: she is predominantly only interested in winning, social climbing
and the benefits that come with that, yes she does cry and show emotion but
then again this could be down to control and the fact is something heinous went
down to a situation that she created, she turns it into her own attention seeking the thing and she possibly chose an easier option at
the end of the day for control purposes, whilst her two suitors; the first one
is a dormant: that eventually shows signs of having a backbone, but then again it is turned back into jelly for a backbone whilst the other is emotionally challenged, literally gets his
legs broken to be taller and for the rest of the cast of characters; well if
you wanted them that way you strike gold and I can repeat that sentiment for
the performances as well as in if you wanted them that way you have struck gold
again... well done [for those that can't tell am being very
sarcastic/facetious.]
This film receives: 1/10 , this film is poor; I can't stress this enough this film absolutely embodies everything wrong with the entire dating scene and the ludicrous demands that some people have, I swear as I have already referenced, if it wasn't so important for me to do this content I would have walked out of the cinema, the person I watch some of this content with wanted to but we stayed and not forgetting you had me using adult language references as well in the cinema, I have a strong disdain for this film and everything it stands for, yet then again what do I expect from a dating film from the perspective of the modern culture and a woman writer, director and one of the producers of this film in Celine Song, because I want to make this crystal clear all it did was remind me I can't compete with this as someone that is disabled in a wheelchair just one example, so why should I bother, I better get used to being single hell I have been most of my life anyway for one example again I am on a 17 year stretch and I don't see that changing any time soon, so there is a good chance I'm going to die on my own, so yes if you haven't guessed I found this film to be quite triggering as this film normalises this dating behaviour; it makes me fudgin' sick to be honest with you as people will see this film and go if they can do that I can be there to as Lucy doesn't seem to learn anything other than the potential; without giving too much away; maybe it is time to move on. I mean I had one of the stewards ask me so what did you think of the film? I will put this politely here I said it was garbage and some med 60-year-old whispered to the same steward; I am paraphrasing here actually it was really good, it isn't traditional romantic comedy and before I continue yes I have been doing this long enough to know that everyone is entitled to their opinion; but then again yes I may not know his situation, but quite possibly he doesn't have to put up with the dating scene or at minimum getting to know people anymore or has no concept of what it is like out there anymore, I mean the person I watch some of this content with has learnt what the modern world is like for me and other people, and they are of the same age range, so I am not disrespecting this other unknown individuals opinion, but maybe just maybe anyone of a certain age, you may want to ask those of a younger generation yourself what is it like getting to know someone nowadays and in short; it is so much hard work; as a man; you have to watch what you say and to your say it, if you talk too much or too little, you will be punished, you can't touch them even though they might full down, you can't ask to help them carry something, then you will get a mouthful if you don't ask if you can help, if you are a under 6 foot you can forget it, if you don't go to the gym or something to that effect, if there is a significant age gap [where both parties are of a consenting age] where the male is the older you will get called something to the effect of sex offender, but if a woman does it; it is absolutely fine, if you don't have money you can pretty much forget it as well, if you don't have have big genitals you may as well keep on walking, if you don't give her her own free time when she wanted you will be in trouble, but then again if you don't give her structure she will get angry, if you don't pay for meals: you are toast, don't ask her about her body count, but she can ask you about yours and then criticising because in my case it is way too low, she can body shame you, but you can't body shame her I mean I wouldn't, but I have done is to make this precise point, I can't talk about my mental health take it out on her gender/she feels like it is on a personal attack, but she is fully within your rights apparently to take anything out on me that she feels like, even though I wasn't there: I know men/other people are just as bad as this film will also show, but I can not take responsibility for them, hypothetically and I am talking hypothetically whilst I'm on the subject, if you have for an example a negative experience with someone that is 6 foot, why don't you try opening your parameters a bit more, like for me my parameters are pretty much wide-open and I am set up of people implying it is desperation,... no I have a wide personality, all I ask is going to be cold, be safe in the kitchen [this is not deemed to be sexist just I have had quite a few people almost burn it down,] realistic expectationsOf life, have experience with pets and oral sex, so this is just a taste of the modern landscape and the final word from the person I want this film with this individual says simply put " Shallow" and yes there is an extra scene over some of the ending credits, yet somehow this film also has some awards accredited to name such as 6 Nominees that include but not limited to Astra Midseason Movie Awards 2025 Astra Midseason Award Best Actress Dakota Johnson, Best Actor Chris Evans, Best Supporting Actor Pedro Pascal and Best Director Celine Song [as of this content being those created: all 6 Nominees have come from Astra Midseason Movie Awards 2025.]
