Get
me The Accountant: briefly;
Treasury Analyst Marybeth Medina [Cynthia Addai-Robinson] she is the Deputy
Director of the Treasury Department's FinCEN and she gets a message from beyond
the grave that on this case you will need the assistance of Christian
"Chris" Wolff [Ben Affleck:] he is someone that has neurologically or personality disorder, that is a
cleaner: in short in this context: it is somebody that you go to; to clean up
the situation in one way or another. But Chris calls upon his estranged brother
Braxton [Jon Bernthal:] he is a professional hitman, what is the difference
roughly between these two professions: one is much more clinical as they would
make sure that everything is done as cleanly as possible without leaving a
mess, whilst the other is if they are clean, that is good business, but as you
will see in this project sometimes they are messy or/and clumsy; so this trio
are hopefully going to resolve this case.
Generally
speaking: the script is really elongated
which can easily be spotted in these two long comedy sequences; the first is
speed dating and the second is line dancing [I will discuss these again in this
content,] but then again there is much of a script as the person that I watch
some of this content with and I spoke about that they pointed out first; that
there really isn't much of a script here. So the cynic in me would suggest that
these two lengthy comedy sequences are perhaps used as filler? Because they
could have easily knocked off 20 minutes of this 132 minutes film, to give this
film some very much needed get up and go, because minus the closing section of
this title, for the vast majority of the time it moves as energetically as a
snail.
Comedy and action; Christine tries to break this speed
dating algorithm and later on he tries to learn line dancing, with eventual
punch-up, but he isn't the only one that has issues Braxton: tries to have a
peaceful conversation with someone, but she is terrified of him, accidentally
punches this individual and sent him flying to the ground below, when they
really needed to keep the person alive for information gathering and later on I
am paraphrasing here but essentially the sentiment is the same; he indicates
that this individual did not kill these people in these photographs, because he
did, but in the final section of this film there is this really belong guns
blazing action sequence which is good fun.
Character developments, comedy, performances, and voice
performances; I mean these character developments are a mixture between, okay
that was shoehorned in; be it the brothers connection or this mystery assailant
and how it gets unravelled, I mean having said that the character developments
between these two brothers works as Braxton goes out of his way to somewhat
irritate his brother Christian as it relates to repeating everything he says in
a very annoying voice or/and throw away his suntan lotion when he is using it.
What can I say here? Well because of their character developments and not
forgetting the script, framework and pacing and so on. These character
developments they do look and feel as if they are solidly good versions of what they are meant to be,
but in a nutshell because of whatever reason this film is really slow, so as it
relates to the character developments and/or performances if this is what they
were going for they struck gold, don't get me wrong they did their job, but it
was predominantly lacklustre; minus Daniella Pineda as Anaïs: her history is
clouded in mystery so I can't say too much more: but as a performance she
excelled in what she was given to work with and should be very happy and walk
away from this project will her head held high, even though this is not her
fault but her character developments were/are very much shoehorned in , but
they still had to carry this project on their backs as well and the voice
performers is all good.
This film receives: 3/10, this film is poor; I think I have made my opinions quite clear on this project at this point, but seriously what was the point of this sequel? I am just hoping that they don't come out with another instalment just to say that they got a trilogy out of this... Oh I have just found out they would like to make a trilogy... Great!: but having said that it also has some awards accredited to its name such as 1 Winner which is SXSW Film Festival 2025 Audience Award Headliner Gavin O'Connor (director) Ben Affleck (producer) Lynette Howell Taylor (producer) Mark Williams (producer) Bill Dubuque (writer) and 3 Nominees which includes but not limited to Golden Trailer Awards 2025 Golden Trailer Award Best Action Trailer
