Warning: there is flashing effects/colourful effects/transformation/torture/burning/electrocution

Let's get go and get him back: briefly; Papa Smurf [voiced by: John Goodman:] he is the leader of the Smurfs; as he gets smurfnappt by Gargamel [voiced by JP Karliak and voice of another character:] he is an evil wizard that has had this long-term battle with the Smurfs, he has a cat called Azrael [voiced by: Rachel Butera and she voices another character:] he is a ginger cat. So some of these Smurfs are going on this adventure; for one example Smurfette [voiced by/singing by: Rhianna:] she is the only female Smurf as she was created by and a disciple of Gargamel.

Generally speaking: the script, framework and pacing of this 89 minutes film is... Well something safe and reliable broadly speaking even though they wrapped it around a good script idea, I mean if there was to be a sequel they could really do with exploring what it is to be a Smurf and its true potential as we get to experience some of that which is lots more fun [which will be reflected in my marking of this project,] consequently the framework and pacing; for a little while I was struggling to keep awake if the truth was known, but when this project starts to warm up and progressively get quicker and quicker until it runs free with its strongest assets attributes on the table.

Art, action and comedy: straight off the bat the art ranges from frightening to sublime and everything else in the middle; frightening: being there is a musical number/dance thing in the opening section of this film with all of these Smurf's and they have these lifeless eyes everything else is moving apart from their eyes [or just to cover my back I am going to say occasional] it is just really off-putting and very weird. Sublime: without giving too much away we have these multiple dimensions with their own artistic visions such as for an example anime with this chaotic action sequence simultaneously taking place as well; this animated project does much better when it leans hard on to the mystical side of the Smurf's; because then it is then dictating what is possible, because anything in the world can be possible; along with some adult references; such as the word Smurf could mean absolutely anything and it is a good thing that we have a Smurf that has the ability to cover up some colourful language with bleeps; so this is very much designed for a category of ages ranging from about 7 years old to 18+: it just depends if you're going to go with the flow or be a stick in the mud really?

Character developments and voice performances; on both counts they are very much a paint by numbers affair, I don't have much more to say then that really, they are what they are.

This film receives: 9/10, this film is excellent; okay there are some things that I needed to take off a bit more as I have already discussed in this content, but then again I don't know what people were expecting; meaning it is a Smurfs film projects so you know we can all have differences of opinions but at the end of the day it is still a Smurf's projects. This does have some extra bits and pieces in the closing credits at some point and yes as of this content being first created it does have an award nominee to its name; 1 Nominee Kids' Choice Awards, USA 2025 Blimp Award Favorite Song From A Movie Tyran Smith Shabz DJ Khaled (featuring artist) Cardi B (featuring artist) Natania Lalwani (featuring artist)Subhi (featuring artist) For "Higher Love"
