How to Train Your Dragon, How is this possible?: Briefly; Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III [Mason Thames:] he is a scrawny yet socially awkward member of this village of Vikings, which is very good at constructing things with his hands. But he is not equipped to do what is expected of him as a Viking, which is to kill dragons: which doesn't sit too well with Stoick the Vast [Gerard Butler:] he is the Chieftain of this village, the father of Hiccup and wants to wipe all dragons off the face of the earth. Yes we have Butler back in this franchise now doing the live-action version as well as the animated trilogy from 2010-2019. But when Hiccup comes across this black dragon: eventually given the name of Toothless [voiced by unknown] he is a breed of Dragon known as a Night Fury, a lot of the Dragon is unknown, but everything changes and this is their story.

Generally speaking: this remake/reboot has 2 massive problems; 1 I will discuss now and that would be the framework and pacing of this 125 minutes film; well... the opening 25 minutes or more is so boring that I almost fell asleep; I mean at best broadly speaking it does get better so it becomes good. But I can't over state that the opening to this film is really hard work, I mean I can't blame it on the script, because it is what it is and that would be an origin storyline so it fulfils its purpose. But you will get to that point of "Okay, we get it can we move on a bit quicker now?"

Comedy, art and action; I know, that I am not the target audience for this project, but there are two moments for an older generation such as eating regurgitated food, giving the illusion of enjoying it and making a hat out of a breastplate.

Moving on to the art and action; on one hand: we have some excellent scenes of scenery, they have captured the essence of this and flying/sitting behind Haddock III, so we get to experience the ride on Toothless

But we now come on to the second problem; to begin with now and again there are problems with the green screen effects; where there are moments where we are talking about the standard of the 1970s [this is where I should pause for a second and say I don't have any problems with the standard from earlier film, or from this decade or later on, all I am saying is for this film in 2025: to have this standard of effects are appalled.]

Now if you think I am being too judgemental, wait until you get to the final massive action sequence; it is just horrible to watch, let's keep things simple: it basically has this captivating background and on top of that we have this division between the background and foreground [for those of a younger generation; it basically functions as a pop-up book.] Once you start seeing it, you won't be able to answer it, because I was massively surprised by this turn of events, because it is such a rocky mistake and/or someone had the idea that this looked okay? Is absolutely beyond me, it really does take you out of the film and to reassure you that you will see it; it is better for me to say the entire sequence. I can't tell you how much I hate it, what were they thinking?

Character developments, performances and voice performance; the character developments are broadly speaking good versions of what they are meant to be as an origin instalment goes and mostly the performances reflect this also; minus Toothless and Vast/Butler: even though this massive action sequence is problematic, they had to get Toothless spot on in every way shape or form yes including his sound; so he very much carries, steals the show and Vast/Butler: with his previous experience even though it was voice work; you can tell the everything to do with this character and performance they had on all counts a very good idea of what they wanted him to look like, sound like and be presented on-screen.

This film receives: 6/10, this film is good; if or when they consider; they probably more likely will come out with another instalment of this live-action franchise, I am hoping and I am not being arrogant here, but nonetheless look at these issues I have made reference to and rectify them, especially the final massive action sequence, that is why or how I came to this marking after everything was said and done; throughout the ending credits there are bits and pieces to be seen, but if you want me to be slightly more specific there is an extra little scene right at the end of the ending credits, yes I do mean right at the end.
