In Ireland, in the late 1980s: briefly; we meet Jimmy Rabbitte [Robert Arkins:] he has
this idea to put this band together: based around Soul and rock 'n' roll of the
1950s and 60s and become their manager, one member of this band Andrew Strong
[Deco Cuffe:] he works on the buses as a bus conductor, but he will be the lead
vocalist of the band: this is the rise and fall of the band known as The
Commitments
Generally Speaking: the framework and pacing of this 118 minutes film is
light and breezy; as it tell/shows us the journey of this band.
Character
developments, performances, comedy, action and art; the character developments are
excellently structured, with likewise excellent performances throughout this
cast to bring this film to life; as we have a consistent reference to Jimmy
Rabbitte pretending to be interviewed by Terry Wogan or/and likewise members of
The Commitments not exactly seeing eye to eye which possibly could lead to
things spilling over. But if they can keep things together; they could actually
sing and sing to potentially go far only if they could keep their antics under
control
This film receives: 9/10, this film is excellent; it is a pleasant film
which depicts the rise and fall of this collective of vocalists and/or
musicians. It also has some awards accredited to its name such as 11 Winners
