Now 15 years have passed: basically; we have this husband-and-wife/father and
mother Matt and Emily/other names [Jamie Foxx and Cameron Diaz:] that were at
one time in short CIA operatives, but they chose to give it all up and have a
family, but their past is going to come back and be at their front door,
because as you will see the last mission didn't exactly go according to plan.
Generally speaking: the script is incredibly tiresome especially with too
much exposition at the beginning of the film to the point where I just couldn't
care after seeing it, so it made the framework and pacing of this 114 minutes a
chore as everything else just slotted a tedious jigsaw puzzle.
Action,
comedy and art; there isn't really much of a positive nature for me to talk about
as it relates to this film, but the moments that we do have that I can say that
was fresh or you know something worth while winding out; such as when one of
these parents hit this mercenary with this vehicle; very similar to how a
baseball bat hits a baseball; this generates a sense of natural comedy, which
unlike the rest of it being very much the kind of stuff you would expect from
this action/comedy project or/and much later on we have our two parents taking
on these individuals with these pink illuminates long light tubes which are
commonly used in raves, but in this case they get used as an art exhibit I
believe and accessories to this action sequence; this is all good really and
likewise it shows some elements of standing out.
Character
developments and performances; including the exposition from earlier, the
character developments are well what do you expect them to be either with the
exposition or/and with the standard character types for this film title; of
basically lying to your children to protect them about their parents history
and then the parents history coming back to visit them, so based on this there
is good chemistry throughout the cast; especially our lead partnership of Foxx
and Diaz; they do keep this film upwardly mobiles and always moving and they do
have good on-screen chemistry; it is just a shame that this film doesn't offer
much in the way of in-depth to show more than what you will experience in this
film, basically I am sure in a better film; this partnership could be more than
what it is in this title.
This film receives: 3/10, this film is poor; it does have some fleeting
moments as I have already shown, but on the whole it is generic film title from
a tired genre of film titles that on that by in large have seen their best
decades well and truly past, I mean if you are a fan of individually or
together Foxx or/and Diaz take a look at this film, but I wouldn't go in
expecting too much. There is extra artistry in the first section of the ending
credits, which also has some artistic values.
