Warning:
there is flashing effects/colourful
effects/terrorism/shooting/terrorism/torture/reference to cancer.
Lights, Cameras, Action: in summary; let's make this science fiction splendour
movie Argo Directed by Lester Siegel [Alan Arkin:] a legendary director, but
how can I put this nicely his best days are behind him and alongside John
Chambers [John Goodman:] he is a highly talented make-up artist and will be
working on this movie. But underneath this Mirage a real life situation/mission
is under way CIA Officer Tony Mendez [Director of this movie Argo 2012: Ben
Affleck:] came up with the concept of this mission, so under this false
pretence he can hopefully rescue these American hostages and bring on home.
Generally speaking: the framework and pacing of this 120 minutes film is
really, really, really ever so slow; to the point I couldn't believe that this
film was only 120 minutes long; it really does affect this film in one way or
another.
Action,
art and comedy; we get the standard action sequences for this type of film;
meaning taking of overtaking this location, to take these hostages and then
later on trying to escape to get back to America. The art as it relates to the
costumes and so on and so forth for both of these films; are excellent, really
eye-catching and clean and tidy; for some examples; excellent comic book style,
storyboards and right at the end of the film; Star Wars figurines; moving on to
there are some elements of comedy such as using the title of Argo in a
consistent comedy reference of colourful language.
Character
developments and performances; the character developments are good well rounded
versions of what they are meant to be, which the sentiment can be echoed for
the performances as well as this is very much a cast performance; which is a
very good thing, based on it felt like they had a lot of space to fill up in
these scenes broadly speaking of course as I referred to earlier as it relates
to the framework and pacing; the cast had to do the heavy lifting in this
project to really generate free flowing chemistry for this film to some form of
momentum.
This film receives: 5/10, this film is mixed; as I have already illustrated
in one way or another this film feels incredibly long, even though it isn't in
reality. Yes absolutely it does have some positives, but after everything is
said and done I couldn't give any more or less than what I have already, this
film also has some extra bits and pieces. This film has so many awards to its
name such as 96 Winners which includes but not limited to Academy Awards, USA
2013 Oscar Best Motion Picture of the Year Grant Heslov Ben Affleck George Clooney.
156 Nominees which includes but also not limited to from the same award
ceremony/event Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role Alan Arkin [I
should just point out that this film won a grand total of 3 Oscars and was for
a grand total of 7 Oscars.]
