John Cena WWE Raw Return/the Undisputed WWE Champion Rhodes face-to-face Monday 17/03/2025 by AverageMansReviews
Warning: there
will probably be some censored adult language references in this content and
full disclosure yes I have already spoken about some of this on a social media
platform and what a surprise I have received backlash from it which on top of
that surprise surprise I don't give two dumplings and I have chosen to do a
point by point bases [you will get the idea on looking at this content.]
Segment breakdown:
1. Roughly 4 minutes for the
entrance, atmosphere and to begin the promo with something to the effect of
people looking for approval.
My reactions: I
am already bored, I may as well tell you from the very beginning one of the
biggest problems I have with this entire segment even though I haven't seen all
of it yet is just for the fact that Cena as of this content is 47 years old and
he is acting like someone; at best 35 years old, so even from the very
beginning it doesn't fly, because he is being undercut by his own presentation
of a lack of maturity as a character.
2. Crowd response of; basically you
sold out, Cena; you're making this so easy for me.
My reactions: are
we Cena? Pray tell why? Because regardless of what you have just say as it
relates to your script is going to be absolute garbage.
3. You see for 25 years, I have been
a victim, okay, I have been the victim of an abusive relationship, no, no you
have lost your time to talk
My reactions: so
you are really going to do this? No seriously WWE you are going to really do
this promo? What with abusive relationships/domestic violence being a real
issue and not forgetting you know your dark history of your previous owner [Mr.
McMahon] doing allegedly disgusting things to women: this is tone deaf
absolutely 100% tone deaf and I don't care if I get backlash from the WWE fan
base/their minions for this; I just say it as it is; this is completely tone
deaf and I am already fudgin' done with this main event picture/program.
4. The crowd at repeating you sold
out/but we continue: with him yeah okay take the floor and what do you do with
it? All you do with it is be hurtful with it, all you are is abusive, and all
you have ever done is bully me into being your dam puppet and expected me to do
it with a smile on my face
My reactions: briefly
I would like to highlight by saying again, he is way too old to do this promo,
this promo doesn't hold water, because if anything he was the previous owner
one Mr. McMahon's female doggie, so even there has a promo if they should be
anyone Cena should be annoyed at it should be him and on top of that lets not
forget Cena is a 16 time World Champion, so it is incredibly difficult to understand
where Cena is coming from and with the final cherry on top of the cake he is
roughly worth $80 million, so what is his problem again?
5. With the crowd booing Cena saying
no more with more booing
My reactions: this
one is going to be incredibly brief; this is just garbage.
6. The crowd
chanting fudge you Cena, so very classy thank you
My reactions: has
it not dawned on anyone yet that this entire feud and whatever comes next is
going to be absolute garbage?
7. Look I am not a Babyface or I am
not a Heel, I am a human being and each and everyone of you have been awful to
me. Go ahead, go ahead you have been awful
My reactions: I
know I have already repeated this point, but it is such a good point to make,
that he is too old to make this immature promo as a spoiled child, I mean the
Titanic held much better water than this entire promo so far.
8. It has been the thing down noise
for 25 years, when I first got here to the WWE you let me know really loudly
you really hated me, with the crowd responding with Cena sold out.
My reactions: there
will be some fans of the WWE that will agree with me; that this isn't going
down well, because it is so false.
9. Yeah, yeah moments of
embarrassment, moments of shame just like this one, you let me know I wasn't
worthy of attention, so what did I do, I went and changed myself, hoping you
would like me for a second and it worked, but it wasn't enough, so what did I
do; I worked hard like I always do and I started to win and win and win and win
and win and win and win and win and win [ throughout this crowd were booing
some of it.]
My reactions: I
am really getting fed up of seeing this fudgin' garbage; Cena is way too old to
be giving this bull-manure promo, it literally makes no sense and yet again if
he wants to take it out on somebody; take it out on Mr. McMahon [ you know the
person that booked you.] Another problem with this kind of promo is it bends
the rules of kayfabe from the perspective of Cena is trying to be real here,
but once you open that door, it gives someone like me the opportunity to be
real back. So as you can imagine I had some people basically saying that this
is entertainment so any references to domestic violence should be taken as
such, firstly strangely enough I don't find using domestic violence references
to be entertaining, secondly it is tone deaf as I have already indicated also
and finally you can't have Cena/the WWE attempting to blur the lines between
wrestling and the real world and not expect some kind of backlash and here is a
true bomb for you Roman Reigns had it 10 times worse than what Cena ever did in
particular Reigns' first single run.
10. Oh I won a lot and you hated it;
it wasn't enough, so what did I do I spent the next 10 years of my life, trying
to give everything away I possibly could and it wasn't enough [crowd booing and
then telling him to shut the fudge up.]
My reactions: well
I know if you have gotten the message yet, but I find this all garbage and I
couldn't blame some of these fans for voicing their opinion; based on this is
garbage and this is a waste of air time, it really is a waste of their time, I
mean before this I wasn't really looking forward to WrestleMania as it is
starting to look really poor and after this I am struggling to look forward to
it.
11. In my final moments all I can do
is walk away right [crowd cheering this possible outcome] Cena: what a great
example they go from shut the F up to cheering when I say I'm going to walk
away [crowd cheer]
My reactions: It
is somewhat difficult to empathise with Cena because he has never really gone
through difficult times when he was in the ring, he was at one point the guy
and everyone knew that and like I made reference earlier Reigns had it so much
worse when he was being shoved down our throats like Cena was.
12. So I announce my retirement in a
move that has never been done before I am actually walking away at the end of
this year [the crowd cheer.]
My reactions: well
Cena just lied, because Sting did something similar in AEW not too long ago.
13. I tried one last time to go along
with you guys, I tried one last time to do something nice for you and you
ruined it, just like you ruin everything [crowd boo.]
My reactions: simply
put; this is just generating go away heat.
14. Because just like right here
tonight for two seconds it was great and then it is never enough [crowd give
him the goodbye treatment]
My reactions: if
we are going to have to put up with this garbage for roughly another year or
less, this is going to be insufferable, because all he is doing is essentially
unfounded complaining.
15. Each one of these idiots are
proving my point with every breath [crowd boo.]
My reactions: well
I did think nothing would run my patients dry like The Bloodline storyline, but
then again I have been proven wrong, because I am already so done with this.
16. My point is whatever I do it is
never enough and you should all be ashamed of yourself [crowd boo.] All you
ever do is take, you take, you take and take and you only think about
yourselves, I put my values on the line, to make a very important to us in my
life and all you can think of was what do we get? My story change, what do we
get? John Cena is coming to my town, what do we get? This is trending what do
we get? Not one of you sons of the female doggie have how am I feeling? [Crowd
boo.]
My reactions: let's
talk about your choices shall we; you are still friends with Mr. McMahon even
though he has alleged criminal sexual behaviour hanging over him.
17. It is just what we get? What we
get? What do we get? What do we get? You get nothing [crowd what chance.] You
get what you have earn and what you have earn is nothing. You don't get a look,
because you dress like me, I don't dress like you idiots, you don't get new
music, there is my voice on that song your time is finally up, my time is
finally now.
My reactions: I
have said this in a while, so am going to say it now; Cena is 47 years and like
I have repeatedly said, you shouldn't be giving this promo, because it makes
him look so stupid. Like just off the top my head; you know how you make money
in wrestling Cena? You sell merchandise and surely they could sell a very cheap
in basic T-shirt that said: Look I don't even have to try and you will still
buy my garbage.
18. The only thing you get is to take
a long look in the mirror, to see how each and every one of you has been for 25
years to me [the crowd begin we want Cody chant.
My reactions: I
have to say that this is being the most insufferable piece of content I have
done in some time.
19. Your chanting for Cody [the crowd
cheer,] oh of course, of course you new shiny toy when you are about to put
this one out to pasture.
My reactions: I
wonder if Cena knows that Mr. McMahon has built his empire on the broken bodies
and minds of previous generations of wrestlers? Or is he just going to overlook
this as well as his legal issues?
20. Like I said you prove my point
with every breath that you are awful people, and that in every single person in
this room no one is safe, no one can hide, especially people I can pick out in
a crowd [pulling his own T-shirt] yeah, yeah I see you; you in the front row,
you in the front row, yes I can identify you quite easily [yet again pulling
his own T-shirt] your let's go Cena people, you'll like yeah I support you
[mixture of negative and positive chant for Cena.] You hear that world the Cena
sucks masturbating; have already proven themselves to be awful people. I am
about to tell you why the let's go are just as awful people, you claim to
support me what had you [ with him now pointing out to the crowd] what have you
done to support me? What have you ever done to support me? All you ever do is
steal from me, you steal from me, you steal my personal moments, you steal my
time, you have made me your toy, I am an object to you, you have made me the
but of a stupid invisible to for the past 15 years and you still think it is
funny, it isn't funny, it is pathetic, you are pathetic [ the crowd telling him
to shut the fudge up] with him responding; oh you don't want to hear this, this
is tough for you? Oh you are not ready to hear this? You are not ready to lean
into an uncomfortable conversation? The truth is [ with him holding his T-shirt
again] you know where this for support, you where it to make yourselves feel
good, you where words like hustle, loyalty and respect, I live them every day.
You think you can buy the words never give up, I am the definition of never
give up and every person he knows it. You, you don't support me what you do is
use me as an excuse for your pathetic failure of life, because all you have
ever done there is sit on your posterior for 25 years and watched me be great.
No more, this, this, everybody including that one kid there is a toxic,
dysfunctional relationship [with the crowd repeating the sentiment of shut the
fudge up] you don't want to hear this, it is too tough for you, well listen to
this and breaking up with you, I am done, and breaking up with every single
person if you like me or you don't, you were dumped. I don't need you any more,
I don't care about you and you don't matter to me and here is the thing, there
is no noise you could make or there is nothing you can do because you know I am
right and you know you are wrong.
My reactions: when
I think this company can't get any lower they continuously prove me wrong:
there is just so much wrong with just in this final section alone; such as you
are aware when people support you, they buy your merchandise which makes you a
very wealthy person and I don't care if this is kayfabe or not, it is in
extremely bad taste to bring up someone's standard of living when they may not
be sitting on their posterior, in actual fact they may be working anything
between 45 to 60 hours a week providing for their family and in some cases they
wouldn't change a thing, but just maybe they have had to put their dreams on hold
to do what is necessary for their family and finally maybe the younger
generation need someone to look up to, I mean my generation had Terry Bollea
a.k.a. Hulk Hogan and we can see how that turned out that is why from the
slightly older generation until the the end of time "The American
Dream" Dusty Rhodes will forever inspire people with his words and actual
being of a larger-than-life character that I mean is respectfully wasn't in the
standard shape of a wrestler, but he embodied what anyone can do; in a nutshell
take what you have and make something with it. I mean as you can tell I really
hate this concept of an abusive relationship, when it is not the case.
The Undisputed WWE Champion Cody
Rhodes' music hits:
21. [As you would expect the crowd in
a nutshell go mental for Rhodes; it should be mentioned that his entrance
before promo began roughly somewhere between 4 to 5 minutes long.] I think
everyone was willing to hear you out, even myself if I understood you correctly
from what you just said, they have given you the worst, sure they may have
given you the worst, they are also giving their best for 25 years and they did
that because they knew you were special, because you could take it, because you
could carry it [crowd showed appreciation for what was said.] Cena responds
listen kid. Rhodes cuts him off enough! And it is certainly not kid, it is WWE
Champion [crowd continues to show appreciation than with a Cody chant] Cody:
let me ask you ... the hell you? Where is this guy on this shirt pointing to
Cena's T-shirt] right here? Even after what you did I was still excited by the
prospect of going week to week face-to-face with John Cena and instead I got
this. This better not show up at WrestleMania, because if it does I read it
over, I run it out, I already took its best shot it wasn't good enough, I
retire it early, so go and find John Cena I want to wrestle him at WrestleMania
41, not this whiny female doggie. [With the crowd being supported to what
Rhodes has just said and then giving Cena the goodbye treatment.]
My reactions: this
entire segment including Michael Cole on commentary afterwards going off on
Cena, I know it isn't in this segment, but it is around this segment
nonetheless and yes I have seen it online. It is and was too much by length
roughly as well as some references, just over 26 minutes and if this is going
to be the norm for awhile, if I was regardless of gender the everyday male
or/and female I would be fuming, because Cena and Johnson or both part-timers
taking away time from those that wrestle every day/night, does anyone else
remember the when Cena criticised Johnson for doing exactly the same thing that
Cena is now doing as well. But I wasn't joking when I said I am done with this
already.
What would I have changed?: Well
like I said many times Cena is 47 years old, so his mind set should been
something like; I have served you for 25 years, where you have both loved me
or/and hated me, but for the first time/the last time in my career I am going
to put myself first and I don't have to justify myself to you or anyone. I mean
okay it may be something a lot shorter, but at the very least I have made him
sound like a 47-year-old man with a good motive/bad motive, it would have saved
all of this toxic domestic violence references and other unnecessary toxic
references and would clearly it would have saved some screen time.
What I can see happening is: we
will have to put up with this garbage for some time where we crown a new
Champion at WrestleMania 41 and throughout the rest of the time we will see
Cena battling with is in their psyche as this contract runs out; he will go
full circle and turn on Johnson eventually, so he can set off into the sun as a
Babyface.
