We begin at the age of 32 years
old: in a nutshell Bridget Jones [Renée
Zellweger:] at some point she begins her new job on the TV program Sit Up
Britain as a news journalist/reporter as things went south at her previous job
as you will find out.
Generally speaking: the script, framework and pacing of this 96 minutes
film is a nostalgic look back on how romantic comedies used to be set out as
for a good section of the start of this film there isn't much really happening;
I mean there is something's happening but in a slow trickle, but after some
time it does move out of first gear and it has some momentum to move along at a
good pace.
The
outlay and comedy also has at its disposal a inner monologue of Renée Zellweger
as Bridget Jones [she is putting this situation in her diary including at one
point using a certain phrase that I could not put here; as she is getting well
and truly stuck in this conversation which she is desperately trying to pull
off, but as you will discover it is a complete lie or/and the underwear
discussion on what kind of situation she is hoping for/planning for or the
highly remembale sequence/skit and later on action; where Jones is dressed as a
fire-fighter and as she is reporting live from this fire station; it is planned
out that she is meant to come down this poll and do this interview, but things
didn't happen this way; in reality broadly speaking they had so much go, stop
and reset or reset as best as she could that by the end of it all they had was
her curvy posterior coming down this poll with the camera shot of a full
picture of her posterior and later on we have this one-on-one between Jones'
two rivals; this is all good fun.
Character
developments and performances; these character developments are foundation
levels of character developments as they are all characters that can be built
on if they return for a future instalment. But however these performances from
everyone in this cast; put in the kind of performances that they become their
characters; so in essence it would make them incredibly difficult or especially
in either the lead or major supporting roles in possible to recast [just to
cover my back for in the future just in case it happens; this version of this
franchise anyway.]
This film receives: 7/10, this film is good; I mean if you haven't seen
this film or you want to watch a romantic comedy that possibly doesn't acquire
too much brain power possibly whilst eating a takeaway? Then this title will
fulfil their purpose, there are some extra bits and pieces in the closing
credits either photographs or extra scenes. This film also has some awards accredited
its name; such as 8 Winners that include but not limited to London Critics
Circle Film Awards 2002 ALFS Award British Screenwriter of the Year Helen
Fielding Andrew Davies Richard Curtis and 32 Nominees which include but not
limited to Academy Awards, USA 2002 Oscar Best Actress in a Leading Role Renée
Zellweger
