Welcome to Bangkok: we meet this man on a flight landing in Bangkok Kai Kahale
[Mark Dacascos;] the purpose of his visit is to clear up some remaining
business, obviously he needs some transport to go from here to there so he
offers this Uber driver equivalent Fha [Vanida Golten] a down payment of $1000,
but up to $5000 if she completes this job with two stipulations; one, she will
have two turn off her app and two, she can leave at any time with the thousand
pounds; in total he just needs to make five stops and that is it.
The pacing of this 105 minutes film
is it knows what it is doing and it sticks to the plan, it is a solidly
progressive paste film.
Comedy; there is this running joke
in this film where 9 times out of 10 Kahale can't find at least something to
try his hand on after washing them.
Because we are in Asia, Thailand,
Bangkok you do have that presentation of artistic visions being colourful and
engaging and Kahale dream sequences have to be noted as well. The action is
bang, bang you're dead that old chestnut, there is nothing wrong with it, but
at the same time I can't really overly sell it, because it is what it is, but
still a positive nonetheless.
The character developments and the
performances: the character developments and the performances are mostly
solidly good, but our lead partnership of Kai Kahale [Mark Dacascos] and Fha
[Vanida Golten] there is real substance here as on both counts, they are both
not bad people, just either put in a bad situation or seeking peace.
This film receives: 5/10, this film is mixed; on the whole this mark is a fair
outcome, I did have a little think about giving another mark, but I just went
with a the mark which is more easier to justify, so what we have here is a
solid action film title.
