Comments: simply put we are back to our
regular scheduled positive wrestling matches/match slot. We have Jim Ross
pointing out at points the value of a good education as the contenders for this
match have gotten a higher education to fall back on and the champions are from
the school of hard knocks as they got into wrestling sooner. Ross much later on
makes reference to our Referee [Tommy Young] I am paraphrasing here he has won
awards five years in a row for his high-quality refereeing, but I would like to
debate that, because this would be the second time in this pay-per-view I am
going to criticise his refereeing, Hayes goes to his corner to get his hair
sorted out by Garvin and he clearly makes contact with his
head and I would say this would be a tag, but our Referee doesn't do anything
about it.
Douglas has a couple of botches in
this match on the second attempt of delivering a clothesline to Hayes when,
Hayes is coming off the ring ropes, Douglas misses his intended target of the
chest and instead gets tangled up in Hayes' nearest arm, so Hayes falls forward
on to his hands and knees. Which you have Douglas saying clearly "Come on
get up" as he is trying to cover this botch up. Secondly a little time
later in Hayes goes in to perform a back body drop, the old classic drop your
head too soon giving in this case Douglas the opportunity to counter-attack,
which he does into a old-fashioned swinging neck breaker [which is synonymous
the longest reigning WWF/WWE Intercontinental Champion of all time; 454 days
The Honky Honk Man; it was his finisher by the name of " Shake Rattle and
Roll; it isn't exactly the same, but it is the model I am talking about,] which
I have to be completely honest it looks okay until the twist section of this
move, I am customarily to seeing wrestlers that are taking this move land on
their back, not on their side as Hayes is, which after this Hayes tags out.
Full disclosure I may be making something out of nothing here as I have already
stated I don't know, but at the last second it just doesn't look right and I
have watched it many times. Yes the audience is back in full voice with this
match/match slot and finally Cornett is 0 for 2 on this pay-per-view which I
don't mind not having a conclusion on this pay-per-view, that is the art of
long-term storytelling I don't know what happens in the future/in the past, I
just take pay-per-views by pay-per-views unless they get to the point where I
know I have seen the previous pay-per-view then I may make reference to it when
or if it is appropriate to do so or I actually remember which I probably will
do, but I may forget by accident.
Basic Result: I know I have very much
indicated the result but I still have to do the admin, so your retaining NWA
World Tag Team Champions are The
Fabulous Freebirds; Michael P.S Hayes & Jimmy Garvin.
