Recommendation of: WWE SummerSlam 2022 by AverageMansReviews

Recommendation of: WWE SummerSlam 2022 by AverageMansReviews

Introducing new content: straight off the bat I will be doing this when I can, because yes I watched this live so it will have to fit in around me. I will be vague on aspects or miss out things depending on my discretion hence the word “Recommendation."

Warning: there is flashing/colourful effects throughout

Becky Lynch vs. Champ Bianca Belair; Singles Match for the WWE Women's Raw Championship: this match/match slot was on the whole excellent, there was a few untidy moments or you know transitional fluency issues, but this section of this pay-per-view does what it is designed to do and that is kick things off in the right tone and manner and not forgetting loud as well; this match/match slot receives: 9/10.[Additional: on Monday 01/08/2022 it was going around that Lynch had suffered her shoulder popping out during this match, I was thinking I would just add this to be fair and balanced, it has been reported that she suffered the injury somewhere around landing badly after a Glam Slam.]

Logan Paul vs. The Miz [with Maryse & Ciampa;] Singles Match: like him or hate him Logan Paul can wrestle, the WWE may have to work on with him about kayfabe Babyface or Heel, I have heard reports that some audiences just want to boo him, but here they were cheering him. I would continue putting Paul in matches where there are experienced performers around him for a little while yes he can wrestle, but just in case something doesn't go according be it something minor or major just put him with established performers that way you can learn on the job as well: this match/match slot receives: 9/10.

Theory vs. Champ Bobby Lashley; Singles Match for the WWE United States Championship: full disclosure I pressed on something so they missed a bit of the entrances. But this match/match slot almost put me to sleep, this is the first time I have seen Theory and man he is so boring, can we now give Lashley something better to do: this match/match slot receives 6/10.

The Mysterios [Ray & Dominik Mysterio] vs. The Judgment Day [Damian Priest & Finn Bálor with Rhea Ripley;] No Disqualification Tag Team Match: let's be positive this match/match slot goes how you expect it to go, but at least it woke me up again: this match/match slot receives: 8/10.

Pat McAfee vs. Happy Corbin; Singles Match: this match/match slot is good, McAfee is a good little wrestler, but likewise this was putting me to sleep: this match receives: 6/10.

The Street Profits [Angelo Dawkins & Montez Ford] vs. Champs The Usos [Jey & Jimmy Uso;] Tag Match for the Undisputed Tag Team Championships, Jeff Jarrett as the Special Guest Referee: to be honest I was beginning to feel the effects of this pay-per-view, because of the previous match, generally speaking it was good, but hopefully we should see some more tag teams come up or through to fill out this division a bit: this match/match slot receives: 7/10.

Ronda Rousey vs. Champ Liv Morgan; Singles Match for the WWE SmackDown Women's Championship: I woke up again, this match was excellent, but I had to take a mark off for this fair reason. They had very recently done this angle in another championship match on the main roster, so it was way, way too early to do something similar in this match; this match/match slot receives 7/10.

Brock Lesnar vs. Champ Roman Reigns [with Paul Heyman;] Last Man Standing Match for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship: this match/match slot had everything in it and in all rights should be at the very least in the conversation of wrestling match of the year for 2022. But please WWE leave this match/feud go now, you have given it a perfect sendoff so don't spoil it, I mean years upon years down the line if these two wanted their final match in wrestling to be against one another than that should be the only reason that you would be entertaining this match again or something completely insane like a fatal four way with these two, The Rock and John Cena for the WWE Undisputed Universal Championship: This match/match slot receives 10/10.

The average mark for this pay-per-view is: 8/10, yes I have chosen the mark which is without complicating it too much mostly around this mark. This was a clear statement by the new regime of this empire that they are going to do things differently, by working with their universe/fan base and not against them and considering I chose to do this with maybe a couple of hours notice things went well for the first time out.
