Review Time

Warning/Disclaimer: there is flashing effects/colourful effects/medical/run over/drugs/shooting/electrocution. Disclaimer there is a section in this blog/review I am only talking from life experience of OCD [Obsessive Compulsive Disorder,] so I am not a psychologist or anyone medical.

Well this film is so boring: this Black Ops is being ran in the FBI [Federal Bureau of Investigation] by the Director of the FBI Gabriel Robinson [Aidan Quinn,] but one of his best agents or fix it people don't know this; his name is Travis Block [Liam Neeson;] he is a fixer for Gabriel, because they both have served their country and they go way back, this is until this situation develops where an Black Ops Agents goes rogue Agent Dusty Crane [Dusty Crane;] he wants to tell the truth about this operation to this news reporter Mira Van Dorn/Mira Jones [Emmy Raver-Lampman] the pacing of this 104 minutes film is at best pedestrian, but to be fair the storyline doesn't help much either, Travis is trying to give up this lifestyle for his family and he really wants to, but he is denied that by Gabriel, so we have this really tedious mixing personal life with professional life, Mira ongoing investigation and anything else that they want to throw in the mix.

There is a moment of comedy where Travis gives is young niece  Natalie Block [Gabrielle Sengos] on her birthday a little light and taser, this is where I should point out she is way too young for such things like taser. Travis is just worried about his daughter's Claire van der Boom [Claire van der Boom] and is niece's safety and security.

Generally speaking the character developments are safe and reliable versions of what they are meant to be. But on some research meaning I watched some scenes of this film again and they really screw up on Travis' character developments other than being a safe and reliable version of what it is meant to be. Travis unfortunately suffers from OCD which was triggered by this situation when he was serving his country. His obsessive compulsive number is 3, which means he has to do something three times and he also has other personality traits or disorders such as this glitchy memory thing [you'll see this if or when you see this film; it is a glitchy memory recall thing] and wanting to keep his family safe and secure. But having said all this there is this one scene where his niece do this high five things three times and he miss counts, but it isn't him that brings it up it is his niece in fact he says are you sure oh yes and then they do it again to his number.

Now yes it is possible to try and break obsessive compulsive behaviour and yes likewise obsessive compulsive behaviour is much more consistent when the individual is stressed or heightened emotionally, so it is possible that he was calm and more relaxed. But having said this; if he was more relaxed he shouldn't all want to engage in this behaviour if he wants to break it in the first place, but the fact that he miss counts and it wasn't him that told us it was his niece and having spent more time thinking about this I am 99.9% sure that this is the only time he greets his niece like this so not only does he not remember his specific number this is the only time he greets her in this fashion. Which I don't know about everyone else I find it very strange, because this character has been through a traumatic situation by accident; it is one of those I can never forget things so I would expect Travis to do this greeting much more frequently with everybody and just not his niece. So I think somebody needs to go and research OCD be for putting it in their film, without being disrespectful to anybody if you are going to use something like OCD as the three words go Obsessive Compulsive Disorder goes make sure it is consistent obviously.

The performances are on the whole okay they served their purpose, but the ones that stood out for me are/were Emmy Raver-Lampman and Gabrielle Sengos; you know in their own way they were on reflection trying and succeeding to put some life into this film.

This is the only action sequence that really grabbed me in this film; it is where we have Travis chasing in this car Dusty in this garbage truck and yes the forks on the front of this garbage truck get used.

This film receives: 2/10, this film is poor; as I have already referenced this film is so boring, I mean if there are any fans of Liam Neeson out there in Internet land and the performances of Emmy Raver-Lampman and Gabrielle Sengos take a look at this film but I really wouldn't expect too muchand the only reason that this film isn’t getting a 1/10, this because taking a minute to think about it there is enough positives here for the mark not to hit rock bottom.
