Elvis 2022 by AverageMansReviews
Review Time
Warning: there is flashing
effects/colourful effects/medical/racism/shooting
He got rode until he couldn't give any more: well as the title of this review/blog may suggest this film
focuses on the life of Elvis Presley [younger: Chaydon Jay/older Austin
Butler] and the exploitative waste of breath known as Col Tom
Parker/Andreas Cornelis van Kuijk [Tom Hanks.] For the hard-core Elvis Presley
fans yes this film does also show and made reference to it wasn't just this
waste of breath that exploited the King of Rock 'n' Roll, basically in one way
or another they was going through money like water. But he made sure Elvis
would never be free of him and I don't care if this scumbag made him, it
doesn't give him the right to break him.
The pacing of this film is smoothly good there is always something going
on, to see and to experience which is really good, because this film isn't
exactly short it is roughly 159 minutes long.
The art is/was always going to be huge factor of this film, based on it
is Elvis, I only know the basics of him which include he was always a
showman/show person, because as this film shows once he got on stage he gave
everything to every performance and we even have a comic book section to this
film showing part of his life at that point; the old comic book fashion style,
basically everything from the scene design/set design wardrobe and Elvis
looking like Elvis and Tom Hanks looking like the Colonel, but there was
something I really didn't like and that is there was modern rap music now and
again in the background. Because this film is a biographical project; it really
stuck out for me and consequently it takes you out of the film whilst it is on;
it is really inconvenient and to finish on a positive in this section; there
are these black-and-white photographs being taken of Elvis which are sometimes
moving, I think they were going for many pictures being taken at once that kind
of artistic thing going on.
The negative character developments; I get it [I know this is a strange
place to begin, but I really didn't like it, where this film comes from the
perspective of attempting us to feel sorry for the Colonel, that was a little
bit rich where at some point in this film he blames the fans for what happened
to Elvis. Where I said earlier I get it. Meaning he takes no responsibility for
essentially running Elvis into an early grave, but on the other hand and I do
stress in the interest of fairness and balance this film doesn't show too much
of Elvis's drug abuse or any of his bad diet.
On to the positive character developments and All you need to know about
the performances are Elvis Presley [Austin Butler] and Andreas Cornelis van Kuijk/Col
Tom Park [Tom Hanks] now let's not beat around the bush if these two
individually don't get a Nominees Academy Award for Best Actor Austin Butler
and Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor Tom Hanks there is something very
wrong, you see they just didn't look like them they were them in every way
shape and form including their on-screen chemistry. Without them this film
wouldn't have been the same and would have fallen on its face that is how
amazing their performances are that I can easily say without a shadow of doubt
without them this film would have fallen on its face.
This film receives: 7/10, this film is good; I mean
taking everything into consideration this is the outcome. If there are any fans
of Elvis go and see this film or seen this film on different streaming services
or merchandise when it comes out likewise if there are any fans of Tom Hanks or
Austin Butler out there in Internet land and yes I didn't know or I still don't
know t anything about Austin Butler, but what I do know is this could be his
breakthrough performance, so I will look out for him in the future and finally
also yes this film also has awards already accredited to it. As things stand [I
am expecting more Awards accredited to it,] 1 Winner; Hollywood Critics
Association Midseason Awards 2022; HCA Award Best Actor Austin Butler. [At the
same award ceremony/event] 2 Nominees; HCA Award Best Picture and
Best Director Baz Luhrmann.
