There is mainly one reason why you should watch this film: the film is based around this top-secret location known as Foroe M.T. Retreat this is where old US Intelligence Officers retire, but still provide a service to their country. This is where we find retired CIA Agent Robert Michaels [Bruce Willis] as is estranged son has tracked him down and came for a visit Paul Michaels [Jesse Metcalfe.] But this doesn't go according to plan as an old friend comes to visit as well looking for revenge Frederick Balzary [Chad Michael Murray] and his money back which was taken from him, because he needs his help with something. The pacing for this roughly 99 minutes film is really, really slow and it does take a heavy amount of this project to get up and going.

We do get some comedy elements such as from Blain [Michael Sirow] Army personnel or at minimum dressed as such for an example on first impressions he seems really enthusiastic about this developing situation, including playing this music track really loudly so anyone could hear them coming in this golf cart kind of vehicle, we have this ongoing joke that Paul and Director Kate Taylor [Kelly Greyson] are boyfriend and girlfriend, they reject this, but at the end of this film they end up kissing and pretty much are boyfriend and girlfriend; extremely poor character developments considering this is no longer the 1980s, but 2021 [when this film was released;] the outside scenery can be a positive as well.

Now generally speaking the character developments [minus what I said earlier about them] and the performances are solid versions of what they are meant to be.

We finally come onto the one reason you should watch this film; retired CIA Agent Robert Michaels [Bruce Willis;] you can clearly see and feel he is the shining light of this film as he goes around with guns taking care of business and/or putting in some comedy elements as an old action veteran [you can see an old version of John McClane here and combining that with putting in a good performance to reflect that also, his illness/disability [Aphasia] did show up/through now and again, I have no way of proving this so it is just speculation on my part. But the either dubbed his own voice over when he was having a sticky moment or you can see these moments where he is having to concentrate which being positive for a second works for this character. But however because I know we are living in this trigger culture or cancer culture, to cover my back I would like to point out I have very severe brain damage myself, but very different to what Bruce Willis has.

So back to this review I am far from happy when I did some research to find out this nominee for an award; Razzie Awards; Worst Performance by Bruce Willis in a 2021 Movie Bruce Willis; but important statement; The Razzies rescinded the "Worst Performance by Bruce Willis in a 2021 Movie" award when Willis's family revealed that he had been diagnosed with aphasia and was retiring from acting. The Razzies' official statement said, "If someone's medical condition is a factor in their decision making and/or their performance, we acknowledge that it is not appropriate to give them a Razzie." But as far as I'm concerned he should have never been given one with or without illness/disability, because as I have already said he is the shining light in this film.

This film receives: 3/10, this film is poor; yes minus the positives I have mentioned in this review, hell I have just decided to award another mark based on Bruce Willis' ability to be as I have referenced in this blog and one point or another the shining light on this project, but this is a generic action film, which based on my opinion/speculation on my part if this film had a more get up and go to it; it would have received a much higher mark, that way I could ever do is said something to this effect of " this is a solidly good action film, yes there are some little irritating character developments, but on the whole it delivers on what it is designed to deliver." This project also has some awards credited to its name; 3 Winners for an example; ACCEC Awards 2022; Favorite Supporting Actor in a Movie Eric West and just to finish off the admin this project has 1 Nominee accredited to its name, I have already referenced it in this review already.
