Review Time

Warning: there is flashing effects/colourful effects

Storyline: because this project is roughly 25 minutes long I will give you a little bit more on some components so hopefully it comes out as a well-rounded blog/review without giving too much away.

The storyline comes from the perspective of breaking the fourth wall/storyteller from Father Christmas himself; going on a vocation and after that doing his yearly job; the storyline and the pacing is good; it has lots to offer its viewers in one way or another as you will see.

Art/Action/Comedy/Character/Performance: including the on-screen chemistry all of these components go hand-in-hand in one way or another. The art from beginning to end visually is warm, welcoming and incredibly easy to settle down with and it has stood the test of time and it will continue to do so long after I am no longer here; for its attention to detail been of the most highest standards as there is always something happening to see and experience.

Musically we have singing from Father Christmas/Mel Smith with children being backing singers as Father Christmas is making his deliveries the first time around or we just have these children singing over the ending credits or we have this band playing at another point in this project; we get to see them play their instruments as well.

Now for the action and comedy Father Christmas does some gardening, constructs his own Caravan/Slade and plays sports. Yes before I receive feedback I have decided to leave out Father Christmas making his deliveries [this is obviously lots of fun, I just wanted to bring a little bit more variety to this blog;] for a little bit of the comedy; Father Christmas at points at this project let's just say is struggling with overindulging on his vocation, well he is on his vocation after all we have all done it at some point.

Characters & Performances; it is good to see that Father Christmas is a regular old man; it makes him into a three dimensional character which in turn makes it more connectable with any age range of your viewing audience; so the family unit could sit down after having Christmas lunch and watch this altogether and everyone would find something to connect to this character with be you a Child or a Great Grandparent and everyone in between. Mel Smith as Father Christmas makes this project a Christmas classic, he just understood/understands very precisely how this interpretation of Father Christmas should be with his personality and sound like to the point where if someone came up with the idea of remaking this project at any time in the future I just wouldn't bother trying to remake the natural magic of this project is an unachievable task.

This film receives: 10/10, this film is top-notch entertainment; this is one of those projects that is a Christmas classic and you need to see once in your lifetime, the only downside to this project is and it has nothing to do with this project is the fact it has no Awards to its name which is just criminal of the highest order.
