Review Time
Warning: there is flash photography, flashing effects,
colourful effects, showing elements of a skull and connotation of substance
abuse [just to cover my back; I know this particular element has the moral
message of basically "It wasn't the substance; you had confidence in you
all this time." But I have no doubt if I didn't point this substance abuse
element out, which it is just water, someone would have pointed this out for me
at some point.]
Storyline: it is good;
it is one of those storylines which is easy to understand and uses a formula
which has stood the test of time of basically; these characters [The Looney
Tunes] are in a desperate situation, consequently they go to someone which
hasn't done or been around this thing in some time [in Michael Jordan.] Because
the storyline uses this reliable formula the pacing is also reliable hay what
can I say; this film knows what it is doing from beginning to end and here is
just a friendly heads up, there is an after credits scene as well.
Art/Comedy/Action/Characters/Performances: now usually I wouldn't group all of these components together, but as
it relates to these kinds of projects [live-action being integrated into the
animated world,] in one way or another they all go hand-in-hand at one point or
another in this film.
So the art
as it is animation it is very easy to settle down with as it brings the viewers
from our world into the world of The Looney Tunes and their wacky way of doing
things. The comedy is very much a consistent component here is just a small
selection; be it breaking-the-fourth-wall Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck and Michael
Jordan all do it on some level or we have Daffy Duck doing this fashion show
catwalk element of what to wear or kissing the Warner Bros. property label
[forget the label for a second he is kissing his own posterior.]
Action; we
have weapons being used, basketball and explosions.
Characters
& Performances; these are all good; there is good on screen chemistry with
everyone involved.
This film receives: 7/10, this film is good; this film is built for family viewing on a
quiet Sunday afternoon and you just want to settle down with something which is
entertaining for all the family, but it isn't too long either [this film is
roughly 88 minutes long.]
