Shrek 2 2004 by AverageMansReviews
Review Time: this sequel is lots of fun.
Artistic visions: they are still holding up really well
[even though when this review was dictated it is now 2017] which as you can see
there are quite a few years between when this film was released to now. The
colours and the imagination used throughout this sequel also have kept their
freshness about them; especially the imagination around mostly every corner
there is always something to see and to take in from a visual perspective.
Comedy level: firstly uses many film or TV references such as
COPS [with a medieval twist] or Spider-Man's upside down kiss [the version
starring Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst] and just for the record instead of
using a mask, they use mud instead and even The Lord of the Rings gets a small
sequence.
Secondly the rest
of the comedy level is a good mixture between family members meeting for the
first time or meeting again after some time apart. Shrek, Donkey and the newest
third member to this adventure Puss In Boots, all have some good comedy moments
between them as well, there are many other comedy elements to this project [but
I have just given you a fair selection in this review,] I haven't forgotten
about Princess Fiona [but to be fair she does go on a journey,] but not with
Shrek, Donkey and Puss In Boots.
Cast: every single performer puts in an excellent performance, these
characters are all really likable even the evildoers are funny or interesting;
the dialogue exchanges take their viewers from our world into the Kingdom of
Far Far Away.
This film receives: 83% approval, this sequel is an
excellent adventure but it isn't as good as the original.
