Days for D-Day; Do we go or not go?: Briefly; this is the question that U.S. Army General Dwight D. Eisenhower [Brendan Fraser:] he is the Supreme Commander of the Allied Expeditionary Forces and overall commander of Operation Overlord asks, he really wants to go with someone he trusts  USAAF Colonel Irving P. Krick, an American meteorologist [Chris Messina:] he has 100% correction record when it comes to these things or he can go with RAF Group Captain James Stagg [Andrew Scott:] he is a Scottish chief meteorological officer at SHAEF, that strongly suggests that this plan is going to fail, based on different current intelligence and MTC First Lieutenant Kay Summersby [Kerry Condon:] she is Eisenhower's private secretary and confidante

Generally speaking: the storyline/script is excellent coinciding with a framework and pacing; that can be sectioned by date with likewise with lightning pacing to give this movie a very strong and enthusiastic authenticity, which in turn gives this film a greased lightning pacing for this 100 minutes film.

Art and action; they did a fantastic job bringing this world changing event to life, be it location designs/set designs, environment - sky and clouds, wardrobe and accessories and the archive footage about this event [allow me to cover my back here; I mean in this usage of the archive footage and not what is the archive footage will contain and this sentiment goes for the action sequences as well;] as in these conflicts sequences are authentically hard-hitting and marvellously captured sequences.

Character developments, comedy and performances; by and large the cast of characters and performances; being sturdy and well rounded characters with smooth chemistry throughout, but the characters and performances I have highlighted in the opening section are truly outstanding; General Eisenhower/Frasier is under pressure because of previous history and clearly this situation and everything on top, he walks and talks with authority with a pinch of comedy now and again with a serious tone broadly indicating; as in we are in this situation so can we stay on topic and stop doing this rubbish, moving on Colonel Krick/Messina is confident without question it is going to work, consequently he argues with certainty and places part to bring the friction, Captain Stagg/Scott is a professionals professional no fun, no-frills, not charismatic as Colonel Krick; he is very much a science guy, doing research and studying the research, but don't worry he can bring a level friction as it relates to Colonel Krick, he is also dealing with something that is many people's worst nightmare in a war backdrop and Lieutenant Summersby/Condon; her role is very crucial, because she works in a heavily male dominated landscape so throughout this film she will be professional but also from time to time and support network to the best of our abilities and what she is allowed to do.

To be honest; I will be highly disappointed if these four performers are not selected for an Oscar Nomination in their various categories at minimum, hell I will even stick my neck out a little bit more further and say I will be fairly disappointed if in particular Fraser doesn't win another Academy Award Best Actor Oscar for this role; simply put; he makes his film what it is.

This film receives: 10/10, this film is top-notch entertainment; as you may have guessed by now if this film in some way or another doesn't pick up any more positive awards or nominees I will be massively surprised and yes it should absolutely be seen on a big screen at your local cinema; this film does have an award accredited to its name; 1 Winner Heartland Film 2026 Truly Moving Picture Award Truly Moving Picture Award Anthony Maras (director)
