Review Time

One last mission: briefly; after completing a task  Artorius Castus/Arthur/King Arthur [Clive Owen:] he is the leader of these Knights and he really doesn't want to undertake this mission on their behalf, but if they want their freedom they will have no other choice but to take this final mission where they find and save Guinevere [Keira Knightley:] she is an excellent marks-person  with a bow and arrow; this is their adventure

Generally speaking: the storyline/script, exposition character developments, framework and pacing of this either 126 or 142 [the directors cut, which we watched;] is just boring as hell, I really struggled to keep awake in a nutshell for now this film is either way too long regardless of the version, so consequently most of the time the cast are struggling to generate atmosphere control or anything, the framework and pacing... what framework and pacing? For most of the time this film just dawdled along

Art and action; yes of course we have some good set designs, landscapes, wardrobe and accessories and other bits and pieces, I mean; I honestly mean this really, really respectfully, but because of the way this film is meaning regardless of what version of this film you watch; it just feel really, really long and a chore to watch, so what I am politely trying to say is; these assets on any level are not strong enough to keep you engaged in the slightest, but however when this film decides to do these big lengthy action sequences such as for example; this entire snow/ice sequence where Arthur and these characters are trying to get their enemies on this icy water location where they are in range to shoot arrows at them, but the enemy is just out of range; so we have this massive conflict and then much later on we have this other massive crescendo conflict; these are the only two lengthy moments I can happily report that I can stay awake for; but be it individually or coinciding takeover from an artistic perspective or/and action perspective these two lengthy sequences are by and far the biggest assets to this project on every single level including but not limited to wardrobe and accessories and so on and so forth, but don't worry we have another asset to talk about later on in this content.

Character developments and performances; to be honest for the vast majority man on both counts they were just really generic character developments coinciding with likewise monotone performances; the only one that took their character developments and successfully put some life and passion into them was; the other asset to this project by the name of Ray Winstone as Bors; he is a member of Arthur's knights, he is very much an alpha male; loud, loves his wife and has many upon many children, but good to be in a fight with and has a sense of humour and I should very quickly point out there is absolutely zero chemistry between Owen and Knightley; so when they individually talk to anyone else like I have already said it is monotone, but them together; it really does stick out like a sore thumb that there is absolutely no chemistry with them or/and between them.

This film receives: 4/10, this film is mixed; it's just this film is way too long and when it drags, it really does drag on multiple levels as I have already alluded to, but this film does have some positive awards to its name such as 4 Winners which include but not limited to Hollywood Film Awards 2004  Hollywood Breakthrough Award Breakthrough Actress Keira Knightley, 8 Nominees would also include but not limited to Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror Films, USA 2005 Saturn Award Best DVD Special Edition Release For the extended unrated version
