Review Time

What would really help this film is if this lead character wasn't such a dick: briefly; Truman Capote [Philip Seymour Hoffman:] he is a gay writer for the New Yorker and also a novelist in fact this film is based off the back story of his future book In Cold Blood released in 1966, but our story begins in 15/11/1959 where he takes an interest in this murder case.

Generally speaking: the storyline/script, the framework and pacing of this 114 minutes from is good; the film has dividers in it by dates or words on-screen to signify a time jump, because it uses this outlay from the very beginning; it is functional as in it serves its purpose, I don't mind it.

Art and action; they did a wonderful job of bringing this world to life with real authenticity in every aspect of this movie; everything is how it should be with the wardrobe and accessories to men smoking and Capote regaling his crowd with stories and I just have to fill out this section of this content with something; in this case all I can say is; you get to see these actions and consequently consequences

Character developments and performances; on both counts the vast majority of the cast do a good job bringing their characters to the big screen with good interpretations of their character types. Now we come on to the problem; Capote is a self obsessed dick and I would say 9 times out of 10 that is absolutely fine, meaning I have met many dislikeable people in my time, but there is that one time where this or that character in a film sense just really well and truly crosses the line and that is where I am with this character: without giving too much away, but enough to make the point; he makes everything about him, but he still has a life and another character indicates this as well. Seymour Hoffman puts in a masterclass of what he can bring to the table and for those younger generations that are not familiar with his work regardless of what type of role position meaning lead or support or less he always made an impact/presence and as he is in the lead role position in the movie; he very much makes this movie to the point where I can say with flawless confidence if he declined this role, there was absolutely no point moving forward with it; because even though this individual is self-centred, Seymour Hoffman puts a layer of inner struggle to him; so yes I am criticised it on one hand, but on the other hand praised other elements of ; so this is very much a case of those things can be right at the same time.

This film receives: 6/10, this film is good; after everything is said and done I decided to award this mark off the back of Seymour Hoffman's masterclass of a performance. This film also has some awards accredited to its name which includes but not limited to 59 Winners Academy Awards, USA 2006 Oscar Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role Philip Seymour Hoffman and 89 Nominees from the same award ceremonies/event Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role Catherine Keener as Catherine Keener as Nelle Harper Lee: she is a long-suffering friend to Capote that at this time writer of children's books, but goes on being novelist in her own right as she writes To Kill a Mockingbird which gets released in 1960.
