In 1837 London: briefly; we have this pirate and his crew; called the
Pirate Captain/other characters [Voice by: Hugh Grant:] he has this Dodo by the
name of Polly, he is very much a oblivious to the fact he is a bit of a dimwit,
he is absolutely desperate to win this award; Pirate of the Year, but luckily
enough his second in command The Pirate with a Scarf/referred to as Number Two/other characters [Voiced by: Martin Freeman:] he only other hand is the one that has the
intelligence and consequently it is his job to make sure that his captain
either doesn't do anything stupid or say anything too stupid; such as pointing
out something on a map would isn't on the map geographically speaking
Generally speaking: the storyline/script is good, but it does take some
time to fully get going either in a storyline sense or/and framework and pacing
sense; this film goes on for roughly 88 minutes and because it does take some
time to catch the light I always regardless how many times I see this film
struggle to keep awake in the opening section or slightly more or less.
Art,
character developments, comedy and action; the art is of; stop-motion
animation; so of course it is really easy to settle down with this type of
project as there is so much to see and experience; be it in this pub, ship or
award ceremony and/or in the air: in short excellent variety such as for one
example; Pirates have been outlawed in the United Kingdom, so this crew has to
go through this very quick changing of clothing so for one change that could be
girl guides whilst on another occasion they could be something else and this is
just one element of the comedy, the other could be this runaway bathtubs with
the vast majority of this crew in it whilst one member is having a bath and we
have our captain trying to chase it down as it goes downstairs on this penny
farthing [for the younger generations; this is a cycle bike which has one massive
wheel at the front and connected to a small wheel at the back,] or much later
Queen Victoria [Voiced by: Imelda Staunton:] she is the current reigning Queen
of England, she is very easy to fly off the handle, if she doesn't hear what
she likes or/and anything against her wishes and she really hates Pirates; but
in this sequence to very quickly drops a few pounds and shows off her combat
skills with swords.
Character
developments and voice performances; these character developments are very well
thought out versions of what they are meant to be, coinciding vibrant and
altogether excellent voice performances from the entire cast; they all bring
their characters to life, this is very much a cast collaboration of the highest
order.
This film receives: 8/10, this film is excellent; I mean everything I have
said here is true, so if you haven't seen this film yet especially if you have
a young to teen family or it is built for family viewing of all ranges, but my
point is if you have a young family it should suit them down to the ground, I had
the excellent pleasure with person I watch some of this content with to go and
see this film at the cinema as you can already tell it was excellent, yes
throughout the closing credits in the beginning and throughout for a little
while there are extra scenes and finally yes this film has some awards
accredited to its name such as 21 Nominees which include but not limited to
Academy Awards, USA 2013 Oscar Best Animated Feature Peter Lord and Behind the
Voice Actors Awards 2013 BTVA Feature Film Voice Acting Award Best Vocal
Ensemble in a Feature Film Hugh Grant Martin Freeman David Tennant Salma Hayek
