Saturday Night Live UK [Season 1,] Episode 5: Host: Host: Nicola Coughlan & Music: Foo Fighters by AverageMansReviews
Warning: there is mature to adult themes/transformation/decomposing/Peter Mandelson/vehicle crash/reference to drugs, feminism, underage sex offender, the man formerly known as Prince Andrew so just Andrew, hanging, suicide, bodily functions, Epstein, animal cruelty and I will be using some adult censored languid references.
The Face of Comedy Award: Who Wants To Remain A Millionaire
[short description: a interpretation of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire:
featuring Keir Starmer and Peter Mandelson;] excellent skit.
What A Life! [short description:
with a magazine publication skit, where they nothing to print, so they ask a
member of their staff about her life and a lot of weird stuff happens to her;]
this skit is good fun.
Bag Organiser [short description:
commercial about this product and another product which is let's just say for
those untidy people;] this is good
QVC's The Jewellery Store [short
description: their guest has or/and is going through something weird;]
excellent little piece of uncomfortable mayhem.
Weekend Update [short description:
a comical look back over recent news stories; featuring Keir Starmer, Peter
Mandelson and the Hand in Hand in Hand;] the Hand in Hand in Hand went much
better than the first time it was used in a skit: Hand in Hand; this segment is
excellent fun.
Learn To Fly [short description:
this flight needs a pilot, this skit concept is based on the track/music video
of Learn To Fly released in 1999 by Foo Fighters;] it had a rough start; as it
virtually signals/implies/references men think they can fly a plane, but for
the rest of the skit; it gets better and better.
Foo Fighters [short description:
second performance;] is I am completely guessing here and presuming it is
another new track; but however this one was and is supremely much better than
the first; well it couldn't get much worse, but let's be positive; it sounded
like the Foo Fighters.
Worst Hen-Do Ever [short
description: well has clearly been a slasher sequence of events taking place
here, but there is always one friend late to an event and we hear her events;]
excellent skit as they talk to than one friend that things that they are life
is so important, compared to what a horrific scene of what previously has just
taken place.
45 Seconds with Fouragres: Fruits
and Vege [short description: a musical/singing song; it does what it says on
the tin and made reference to Epstein;] top-quality musical number to finish
this episode and the actual tune is really catchy; I just can't remember all
the lyrics.
The Face of Tragedy Award: Nicola Coughlan opening
monologue/sequence of events [short description: she talks about her career,
taking cocaine before the show;] it has a whiff of feminism about it, but then
again it is all of a dumpster fire regardless of the beginning section sounding
feminist.
The Magic Faraway Tree Rap Song
[short description: Coughlan has come up with a rap song to accompany her
latest movie and this skit turns into a musical number;] basically this is
another steaming pile of garbage; I listened to all kinds of alternative music,
I couldn't even understand it and its presentation was cheap and very tacky,
and yet again somewhere around the later stages more feminism
Foo Fighters [short description:
first performance;] I believe it to be one of the new tracks and to be honest;
brutally honest; it is manure, as I referenced earlier I come from the
alternative music side of things, I was really looking forward to this
performance. But I had a feeling that they would break out some of their new
stuff as they recently did on another UK appearance [The Graham Norton Show:
Friday night 22/02/2026] and it is just bad; you just have a lot of noise with
yelling and the most annoying thing is; towards the final section of this track
they proved they can still perform to a high level as there is a section in
this track where they slow everything down. The person I watched some of this
content with agreed with me that this was manure and they would rather listen
to Slipknot now, because at least they have a tune or a beat; in short this was
just dog manure.
This episode receives: 8/10, this episode is excellent;
yes this episode does have some downsides, but the upsides comfortably
outweighed the downsides.
