Average Extra of: Clayface | Official Teaser by AverageMansReviews
Warning: there is flashing
effects/colourful effects/or kind of miniature to adult themes/heavy usage of
medical elements, basically any trailer relating to this project is really not
suitable for the ballpark figure of anyone under the age of 15 years old.
My reaction: this content is based on the 64 seconds trailer, let's just say
they have clearly gone with the authentic approach on how this character should
be on every single level; so we essentially have another version of Joker 2019
on our hands, on a little bit research to remind myself, I watched a little bit
of the Batman 1992 animated TV series; specifically Feat of Clay: Part I and
Part II.
Now for those younger generations
out there in Internet land; this is one of those TV programs back in the day
that for those older generations would agree with me it wasn't and isn't
designed for young viewing audiences; the closer and beyond you got to 15 years
old I would feel comfortable suggesting; that is the kind of age range we are
talking about here, because in this live-action film and TV program it deals
with heavy themes; such as drug addiction, the pursuit body perfection,
disfigurement, dark tones and many other encompassing components or/and
elements.
Because from the very beginning to
the very end of this trailer; they have absolutely got everything right such as
tone to represent Matt Hagen/Clayface;
currently as I haven't seen the film obviously yet; it is unclear if they are
going to use the unhinged approach of Hagen using the third person perspective
or the mirror approach [so they can talk to one another] or individually or
combined effort of inner monologue, so as you can really tell I am up for this
film.
But I do have some reservations;
you see all of its hopefully biggest pluses can also be its undoing, if it goes
way, way, way too graphic then there is the possibility of not getting enough
butts in seats, you give us a tamer version of what this character should be
then this will also be problematic [but based on this trailer I don't think this
will be a problem; but for an example if I see the certificate of 12A; the
warning lights will be on,] you give us a two-dimensional version of Clayface
then there will be problems, as this character altogether as in Hagen/Clayface
is complex and layered with or without Bruce Wayne/Batman [to cover my back in
the future as of now I can't tell if Bruce Wayne/Batman is going to be
referenced at minimum or anything other] and on some more research I know
nothing about Tom Rhys Harries as our lead performer; which I do hope he does
have the gravitas and range to bring Matt Hagen/Clayface to life... so not too
much pressure on there then.
My prediction for this film is: 7/10, I would have liked to give
something a little bit higher, but I also like to hedge my bets, so anywhere
north of here would be good, but I do also believed that it is going to be all
or nothing with this movie, so it is going to be hopefully of the standard of
as a reference earlier Joker 2019 or something as agonising as Joker: Folie à Deux
2024, but we will have to wait and see; it is scheduled for release 23/10/2026.
