Real Talking Time:

Okay, Who asked for this remake?: So from the very beginning I have watched the 166 seconds trailer and based on my viewing experience at best it looks a 6/10 or at worst 4/10 movie. I find myself saying or making some kind of reference to this much more frequently these days; where you take a part of popular culture in this case late 80s and remake it for the modern generation in 2025 and on a quick side note yes I'm aware that this film was set in 2017 so futuristic was its intent.

But my point being; this modern retake has none of its classic/legendary authentic essence which if you have never seen this 1987 film what the hell have you done with your life? You should see it as soon as possible, but I digress: but for a taster you should go and see a trailer and you will see what I mean, because even trailers have what I am talking about in cranes full. Meaning one of its biggest weaknesses is also one of its biggest strength; and yes I know what I just said is a contradiction in itself. But because of the lack of resources such as for some examples that of computer technology by today's standards [yes it was there in the 1980s] and a limited budget of $27 million; but it really did help to create this authentic landscape and everything else, which I can see based off this trailer they have tried to recreate it, but that is the problem right there, because I don't know about it yet but I can guarantee you it was more than $27 million; their presentation looks to clean even though it is meant to be set in this broken down society; so straight away you lose the authenticity would means you lose access to taking your audiences on this genuine journey.

Moving on from the visual aspect we now move on to Glen Powell as Ben Richards; to be brutally honest what the hell is this absolutely manure! So we go from a pretty well built individual such as Arnold Schwarzenegger to Powell, I mean come on people I'm sure we could have found someone better like Vin Diesel or Dave Batista or Chris Pratt or Liam or Chris Hemsworth or Djimon Hounsou [I know he is 61 years old as of this content being first created but still deserves a mention,] or if they wanted to go with someone in comparison much younger Damson Idris [as of this content being first created just 33 years old,] or if they wanted to go with something completely different Michelle Rodriguez.

Speaking of Batista it would have been nice to see him take over the mantle of Captain Freedom from Jesse Ventura as they both worked for the wrestling promotion known as the WWF/WWE; as far as I can tell the only casting out and see that they have the right is Josh Brolin as Dan Killian: he seems to be at home and natural in this role.

The action sequences once again based on this trailer; don't impress me much in fact they look very tacky and uninspirinly chaotic and messy.I also know that you won't be getting the same script from the 1987 version either; as best as I can tell you will have wait and watch to see how it pans out; but on this particular aspect; it is not my biggest concern as you can really tell, I can't really judge it without seeing the film; but I will tell you right here and right fudgin' now, if it has anything to do with cancer, I will be taking a mark off straight away. Because as someone that has experienced this in my personal life; I am starting to see in modern film and TV projects; this topic seems to be that go to thing and this life changing serious topic is now used as a cheap get out clause to garnish emotions, hard-hitting and devastating complexity to the product in question which is just manure of the highest order; to cover my back I would say this one more time, as someone that has dealt with this topic I am within my rights to have this opinion; of basically I am getting fed up of seeing it movies and TV and crucially just to be fudgin' exploited in the way it is currently makes me sick, because without getting too political; but witnessing the devastation of this illness day in and day out is extremely hard work to keep everything going and to hopefully reach the other side of the tunnel.

So will go and see this film? Yes, but I will have to probably drag the person I watch some of this content with to go and see it with me, yes this individual has already declined. But after everything is said and done, I think this will just turn out to be another reboot/remake/quick cash grab and yet again it shows that Hollywood has nothing else better to do than remake old films. I mean I have no idea why they just didn't just basic in the 1987 world; use their history; so by definition it is a sequel yes. But that is not my intention like 20% history/title and 80% fresh and new without sounding arrogant ugliest my idea/concept would have been seven times better than just doing this reboot: They could even call it The Running Man: Rise From The Ashes 2025.
