Thick as Thieves 2009 [alternative name The Code] by AverageMansReviews
Review Time
Warning:
there is flashing effects/colourful effects/shooting/references to Russia
and/or the Soviet Union
I
wouldn't waste my time watching this film if I was you [I am fully aware of the
hypocritical nature of what I have just said:] briefly; Keith
Ripley [Morgan Freeman:] he is a veteran high standard of criminal that wants
to pull off this highest, so he finds
Gabriel "Gabbie" Martin/other character [Antonio Banderas:] he
is up-and-coming criminal, that still does big jobs but nothing compares to
what Ripley offers him which is $20 million, I am sure nothing will go wrong.
Generally
speaking: the framework and pacing of this
104 minutes film is straightforward [more you read of this content; the more you'll
understand that in this particular case this may not be such a good thing.]
Action and art; yes we get the standard highest
components; even though this is a standard kind of thing for this type of film
the only action sequences but where mildly interesting where; we had our lead
partnership working together slowly get through these red beams; if one gets
broken it sets off the security alarm and then a little time later, they are
working together to break into this vault; the art comes into effect when we
get to see what Ripley sees using this fancy are equipment
Character developments, performances and comedy; on one
hand they are paint by numbers character developments of the versions of what
they are meant to be and performances reflect that, we even have this now and
again comedy chemistry between Morgan and Banderas; which let's be completely
honest; their lead partnership is meant to be the driving force behind this
film/when I said driving force what I actually meant to say was; they are carrying
it. Whilst on the other hand; I really couldn't care about the big reveal and
that is as much as I can say; without giving too much away. I had really lost
interest in this project; in fact I said to the person I watch some of this and
with; and said something to the effect of "We have just seen, what we have
just seen and I just couldn't be bothered about it."
This
film receives: 3/10, this film is poor; if you
have been around films or TV or content creating long enough; this will make
perfect sense; you know when you're watching something that is not poor, but
just insufferably boring. That is where I am with this film, that point where I
only watched it a couple of days ago and it hasn't stayed in my memory either
short-term or long-term it doesn't matter this film is literally pretty much
forgettable; I mean if you Morgan or/and Banderas check out this film, but you
may just want to keep in mind what I have said especially in this final section
