Between: briefly; John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum 2019 Link https://averagemansreviews2017.blogspot.com/2019/05/john-wick-chapter-3-parabellum-by.html and John Wick: Chapter 4 2023 Link https://averagemansreviews2017.blogspot.com/2023/03/john-wick-chapter-4-2023-by.html : we have this jigsaw piece: Eve Macarro/Ballerina [Younger Eve Macarro: Victoria Comte/Older: Ana de Armas:] she is a young person that after both of her parents are killed gets taken in and trained to be an  Ruska Roma assassin and now seeking revenge against those that took her parents away from her; this is her story.

Generally speaking: the script, framework and pacing of this 124 minutes film is good; it covers everything that it should cover, this film is mobile as it is always moving, but it does need some time to get going as for a fair chunk of this film, it does feel like we are moving forward with the handbrake still on, but when it has been taken off then we see the true potential of this instalment of this franchise.

Comedy, action and art; we do have some comical moments for an example younger Macarro gets taught a very valuable lesson and that is to if need be in a fight cheat to win and let's just say she would make an excellent field goal kicker in the NFL: kicking the ball between the up right: for the action and art, yes as we have come to expect from this franchise, we have these full speed ahead with full force action sequences, which can and do range from being in this special little location for safety and evacuation, to training, to this club sequence of events to going one-on-one with someone special, to this to this demolishing of this entire location and simultaneously we still have the artistic visions to enhance these impactful action sequences, like an example much later on there is this cold, snowy and icy surroundings; so Macarro/Ballerina in this one limited space and on the ice she slides herself across the floor to take care of this individual; it is those little detail throughout this project that you will see now and again.

Character developments and performances; on both counts for a vast majority they are all good, but the foursome of de Armas, the Director [Anjelica Huston:] she is the Director/leader of the New York branch of the  Ruska Roma/Ballerinas,  Nogi [Sharon Duncan-Brewster:] she is the head trainer of Ruska Roma/Ballerinas and Macarro's mentor and mission handler and Winston Scott [Ian McShane:] he is the one responsible for giving young Macarro the option that will change and define her life, it is also the owner of the New York Continental Hotel and finally a special mention goes out to Charon [Lance Reddick:] he is the concierge of the  New York Continental Hotel, unfortunately Reddick is sadly no longer with us as he died in 2003, RIP Lance Reddick.

But if there are any future projects/instalments four performers have to be involved in some capacity as they all define their characters and for de Armas: she looks and feels very comfortable, but also fluently natural knowing and putting across on the big screen what is expected of her in the lead role position, she makes it look incredibly easy.

This film receives: 9/10, this film is excellent; when this film decides to take it's handbrake off and after everything is said and done, it finds itself in this section of my marking system, I would like to think/hoping so not fact they will give her another project, even though currently this title is going I would say solid work at the box office taking over $50 million, but I will take the highest figure here the budget was $90 million, so it still has to do some work; there is some colourful bits and pieces in the ending credits and I am so far disappointed at the fact that this film doesn't have at least some positive nominees to its name for its action/artistry at minimum.
