Bring him back to me and your slate
is clear: briefly; the son of Lawrence Beaumont
[Forest Whitaker:] he is an estate tycoon that is also running for Mayer; but
let's not kid ourselves here he is also crooked as well; Unfortunately, his son
has gotten himself into a world of trouble, so he gets Detective Patrick Walker
[Tom Hardy:] he has family issues, in fact they left him and he is also a
crooked detective; so he sets off to achieve this task.
Generally speaking: the framework and pacing of this 107 minutes film is
slow, but then it comes alive when it is time to unleash the havoc
Action,
art and comedy; the strongest assets to this title are broadly speaking these
chaotic action sequences, which as the title would suggest; they are complete
havoc and relentlessly so; so yes they are/can be incredibly graphic with guns,
stabbing, cutting and my favourite would have to be a harpoon being used; which
as this sequence has a slower death; you know when you have see it/seen it.
Because of all of this carnage, if you have that kind of sense of humour; this
may be slightly funny to you, as you may think when are they going to stop this
sequence of events and yes you will get to see blood splatter and finally watch
out for a washing machine.
Character
developments and the performances; on both counts; they feel as if they had
been left high and dry because of the very slow nature of this title minus the
action sequences; so trying to be positive there is solid performances
throughout this cast.
This film receives: 5/10, this film is mixed; as I have already indicated
in one way or another on one hand this film can be seen as slightly a chore to
get through, what with for most parts not having any particular get up and go
to it, minus the lengthy action sequences, consequently every other aspect
feels like the performances are very much carrying this project. But on the
other hand where this film does come to life is in these lengthy high octane
action sequences, so that is why I have settled on this mark.
