Warning:
there are flashing effects/colourful effects/childbirth/bodily
functions/references to cancer and miscarriage
So yes we are back here again!: Basically; Bridget Jones [Renée Zellweger:] she is now
a producer of Hard News and at the age of 34th birthday; she is starting a
single life again listening to House of Pain "Jump Around" released
1992 as she tells us by narration what has been happening whilst doing comical
dancing; I should give you a friendly heads up the comical moments of this
instalment are fleeting at best.
Generally speaking: the framework and pacing of this 123 minutes film is
incredibly boring, No after roughly 30 minutes I was pretty much done. The
script is basically the same kind of thing of will Jones and Mr Mark Darcy, QC
[Colin Firth:] he is now a barrister dealing with a big case and possibly Daddy
#2; but I digress will they, won't they get back together again? Answer: I
don't care; I will discuss more positively and negatively about the character
developments later on, but for now I just don't care and something to the
effect of one year later in the closing stages of this film is just garbage, so
yes absolutely I took mark off for this.
Character
developments, comedy and performances; this instalment from this franchise
really does need its new blood like Miranda [Sarah Solemani:] a good friend of
Joneses and a TV presenter/anchorwoman of Hard News, Dr. Rawlings [Emma Thompson:] she is doctor
that is dealing with Jones' pregnancy and is asked to keep a lie going; these
two women have are also executive producers of this film. Jack Qwant [Patrick
Dempsey:] he is the creator and businessman of the dating site Qwantify Love
and potentially Daddy #1: but also keeps up a false narrative with Darcy, QC of being a gay couple: yes these
are the only moments in this film I found funny, the rest of it; well it is all
the same kind of garbage really and because these characters have aged a lot,
so how can I put this nicely hell I may as well just to out and say it for an
example Jones is meant to be 34 years old in this film, but in reality
Zellweger is roughly 46 years old so and
her mind set doesn't match with her physical outlook and to be honest it
isn't just her, it is also Sally Phillips as Sharon "Shazzer": now a
mummy to some children, don't get me wrong for about roughly a minute later on
they talk about things sensibly, you see I don't mind the characters and
subsequently performers acting their own age; so they do a solid and good job,
but as you can see Jones/Zellweger is becoming a problem, because their ages be
it mentally as character or subsequently again performer don't match or they
aren't even close if I was to be brutally honest and going through the same circle
even though in her defence a little she acknowledge's Darcy, QC doesn't work,
then she shoots itself in the foot by bumbling herself through this really
important discussion that these two potential daddies need to know. This seems
like an excellent time to bring up; based on this instalment I am greatly
concerned about them bringing out another instalment entitled; Bridget Jones:
Mad About the Boy 2025 [13/02/2025.] I fear that they are just going to come
out with the same old material, well at this point why would they break a habit
of a lifetime? But if they don't at least acknowledge that times are not the
same as before, I am just going to find this film incredibly boring as I did
with this one; so please make this the final instalment of this franchise, but
they probably won't they have to cover the menopause years; no I'm not being a
sexist, I am just simply being sarcastic with the knowledge that with
speculation that this could be a route they could take and at least then Jones
and Zellweger would be collectively in the right age range to perform that
role. But then again who knows; this could partly be what the latest film is
about anyway, apart from other things as well and won't that be fun; Not!.
This film receives: 1/10, this film is poor; as I have made it abundantly
clear I just really did not like this film as it essentially goes over old
ground with some elements of new developments and yes there are some ending
bits and pieces with photographs in the first section. This film also has some
awards to its name such as; 2 Winners [positive and negative awards:] ASCAP
Film and Television Music Awards 2017 ASCAP Award Top Box Office Films Craig
Armstrong and Alliance of Women Film Journalists 2017 EDA Special Mention Award
Hall of Shame Sharon Maguire Renée Zellweger. 6 Nominees which include but not
limited to; European Film Awards 2017 Globe de Cristal Best Foreign Film

National Film Award Best Actress Renée Zellwege [I should point out altogether
there are 3 Nominees from this award ceremony/event] and Evening Standard
British Film Awards 2017 Evening Standard British Film Award Best Supporting
Actress Sarah Solemani.
