Recommendation of: WWE Money In The Bank 2023 by AverageMansReviews

Warning/Disclaimer/Blood warning: there is flashing effects/colourful effects/breaking/fire/biting and disclaimer I already know the results and roughly what happened, I was trying to work on other content and it isn't the most easiest thing to stay off social media when your content goes up on social media in the first place and I have been slowly watching this event in quite a few sittings. I have never been or are likely to be a professional wrestler or for that matter a medical professional at some point or/and points there may be some blood.

Ricochet vs. Shinsuke Nakamura vs. LA Knight vs. LWO's Santos Escobar vs. The Brawling Brutes' Butch vs. The Judgement Day's Damian Priest vs. Logan Paul; Money in the Bank Ladder Match for a Men's Championship Match Contract: let's start with the commentary table/team; at one point Michael Cole mocks the ball hammer finisher which was made famous by his commentary partner Wade Barrett which is cool. But what is not cool is Cole making reference to the fact that [yes they could have been fed this line through his headset] Rey Mysterio is the founder and leader of LWO [Latino World Order] if he said something to the effect of the new blood, I would have accepted that and those of a certain age, would know precisely why I am being a little bit funny about this the founder was Eddie Guerrero and its original leader in WCW [Monday 05/10/1998.]

I mean it isn't like the WWE doesn't have the rights to WCW oh wait, they do. I have no problem with the WWE bringing back the LWO being led by Mysterio [because they are very much like brothers,] but it just come across as if the WWE are trying to rewrite wrestling history and yes I have been around long enough to know this is not exactly anything new. But when it comes to someone like Guerrero I get a little bit touchy on how the WWE presents their history or tries to change it.

For the wrestling; it was lots of fun and as we come to expect from this stipulation there are many hard-hitting spots; so I hope everyone got medically checked out for anything serious after this match slot, because for two examples and I am not criticising anyone involved, but Ricochet basically on the outside of the ring apron takes Paul around for a Spanish fly through two tables, but something goes wrong where Ricochet could have done with two more very small moments in the air to complete the rotating so that Paul could have landed on his back, instead of one both of them crashing and burning simply put Ricochet ran out of time. [I have recently heard/seen a clip where Paul has been discussing this particular sport and I am paraphrasing here, in a nutshell this sport didn't go too well,] so we can safely assume this was a borch

Priest at some point in this match performs a broken arrow on top of a ladder onto Knight after a small amount of replays I will back up Cole here I am pretty sure that there is an attempt at one yes, it is poorly executed, but in fairness and balance even though I am not wrestler from the ladder was situated Priest probably took the safer option or at minimum made the best of the space that was available, meaning the ladder was too near to the ring ropes on the ramp side to safely executed. The commentary team put over the fact they hope there is some stricture and bags of ice. Blood warning after the bell has sounded you will see some blood from Paul, but taking everything into consideration. This match/match slot receives: 10/10.

Liv Morgan & Raquel Rodriguez vs. Champ Ronda Rousey & Shayna Baszler; Tag Team Match for the Undisputed WWE Women's Tag Team Championships: I mean let's be honest it is never a good start when Raw's Ring announcer Samantha Irvin forgets to use the word undisputed whilst announcing these Championships so that Cole quickly as to remind everyone that the NXT Women's Tag Team Championships have been unified with the WWE Women's Tag Team Championships, but then again and yes I have left it in or in this case I have left it out to prove that I actually forgot that these Championships have been unified in my predictions for this event. Barrett on commentary says basically and in short that no one likes Rousey and Baszler, it isn't a popularity contest. which I would like to correct him by saying no it is just Rousey we don't like. Come on WWE pick one name either go with the undisputed thing or later on in this match with a little graphic of this match/match slot we have Cole or/and someone in his ear saying this is for the Women's Tag Team Championship and can I just point out it is Championships because there are more than one of them, this kind of thing irritates me as well whilst we are here so pick one name either one is acceptable just stick to one. But on the whole this match/match slot just keeps this event going with its enthusiasm, the crowd are still very much here for this, they don't disrespect it, but at the same time they may want to take a breath after the previous events. This match/match slot receives: 8/10.

Matt Riddle vs. Champ Imperium's Walter [with Ludwig Kaiser & Giovanni Vinci;] Singles Match for the WWE Intercontinental Championship: this match/match slot delivers what you expect it to be as both of these wrestlers have a history of the hard style of professional wrestling. This match/match slot receives: 10/10.

Cody Rhodes vs. The Judgement Day's Dominik Mysterio [with the Women's World Champion Rhea Ripley;] Singles Match: this match/match slot is good, Guerrero got referenced and mentioned on commentary at some point, so it reinforces my point from earlier, why didn't they make reference to him earlier in the night? What came up after this pushed it to a higher mark. This match/match slot receives: 8/10.

LWO's Zelina Vega vs. Becky Lynch vs. Zoey Stark vs. Damage CTRL's Bayley &/vs. Iyo Sky vs. Trish Stratus; Money in the Bank Ladder Match for a Women's Championship Match Contract: as from WWE Clash at the Castle 2022 Bayley gets serenaded from the crowd again here. I know wrestlers 9 times out of 10 don't like this as it goes against what they are trying to create with a character and yes I know some crowds either do this out of spite or/and some crowds are well-known for the opposite to the characters dynamics, but this is one of those rare occasions where it is genuine, so I don't know Bayley and I know she has a job to do. But hopefully when she gets back stage, she isn't too angry because the British crowds obviously like her. Speaking of Bayley much later on she almost has a blooper, where she has climbed the ladder maybe a bit too quick, so she has to fake a arm stretch for the briefcase, but you can see she doesn't really stretch out for it, but Bayley has to wait a short time but also a noticeable time for Lynch to get up on the other side of the ladder to continue wrestling. It also gets mentioned on commentary Stratus is already showing some kind of scars on her nose so this is possibly where the breaking comes into effect. Likewise from the men's version I am not blaming anyone for this, but I would like to think that the WWE medical staff checks Starks over for a concussion. Because Vega performs this code red basically from one ladder onto another ladder which has been situated underneath and this transition goes really well, but let's just say there is only one clear winner here and it isn't either one of these wrestlers here, it is the secondary Vega may have felt some of it, but Starks takes a fall on whack to back of the head and other body parts, so much so this construction of ladders gives way. This match/match slot receives: 10/10.

Blood warning: in this video package building up to the next match and fire used in the champion's entrance.

The Judgement Day's Finn Bálor [with Damien Priest] vs. Champ Seth Rollins: Singles Match for the World Heavyweight Championship: Cole on commentary just before the very start of this match wants to make a point about something, but just gives up and says eventually. Because he realises he isn't going to be able to talk over this crowd which is still serenaded Rollins with his entrance and a little later in a nutshell Barrett makes a small blooper instead of saying Bálor he says Rollins instead, in fact Cole points this out and helped him to correct himself, Wade puts this down to being a bit dishevelled and there is biting in this match.

Now I am really starting to get annoyed Cole calls out a Rollins splash, when it looks a close resemblance of an Guerrero frog Splash I know Rob Van Dam uses one very similar as well five star frog splash, but as I have pointed out now three times, this would be another occasion where they could have made reference to Guerrero but didn't and just for the record Guerrero's is much better executed over Rollins' interpretation anyway, even though Rollins interpretation doesn't exactly go according to plan here. Once again this is another match/match slot that is worth another mark based on in this case is surrounding storyline and something after. This match/match slot receives: 8/10.

The Usos: Jey & Jimmy Uso vs. the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns & Solo Sikoa [with Paul Heyman] vs. The Usos: Jey Uso & Jimmy Uso; "Bloodline Civil War" Tag Team Match: in the champion's entrance as he walks down to the ring on the left-hand side someone decides to fly the bird and warning there is some kind of fire used in the champion's entrance. Gorilla Monsoon gets referenced on commentary, the crowd makes a colossal impact on to the main event that is sure. Jey makes reference to a family member in his move set to Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson with his punching/spit slap style. Then as Cole makes reference to Jey using one of his father Rikishi's moves a running butt attack in the corner on Sikoa. We have some vague equivalents to the Rock bottom [ura nage] being performed by Reigns and Sikoa. This match/match slot is incredibly slow, yes towards the final quarter things do begin to gather speed, but it was a good thing that the crowd in a nice way to go for this match/match slot with appropriate or in some cases not appropriate depending on your perspective; they brought the atmosphere. This match/match slot receives: 8/10.

The average mark of this pay-per-view is: 8/10, just based on it is a consistent number that comes up and it reflects some of the good parts as well.
