Fugitive: in a nutshell Dr. Richard Kimble/other characters
[Harrison Ford:] a highly respected doctor that has been convicted of his
wife's murder Helen Kimble [Sela Ward:] this husband-and-wife are very happy
together, Dr. Kimball claims he is innocent, so whilst on the bus transport to
prison he escapes with a little help from another prisoner Copeland [Eddie Bo
Smith:] this criminal helps Dr. Kimble a little, but after that Copeland
doesn't want him to follow, so the Doc is out to try and clear his name. But
unfortunately he has Deputy U.S. Marshal Sam Gerard [Tommy Lee Jones:] a Deputy
U.S. Marshal that is the cream of the crop of his field, that is only
interested in capturing the good doctor and Copeland with his unit of other US
Marshal: such as Deputy U.S. Marshal
Erin Poole [L. Scott Caldwell:] the only female of this group that also fits in
as one of the guys.
The
frame work and the pacing of this 131 minutes film, on both counts are upwardly
mobile, meaning it doesn't stop, but from time to time it isn't the most
quickest either and this is because of its design, basically it leans into
investigating either from Dr. Kimble or/and the US Marshal's side of things.
Action/Art:
as it relates to the action we have this bus getting smashed up by this oncoming
vehicle [yes and deliberately not telling you too much about it,] but still
making reference to it or/and this modern classic film moment when the Doc
instead of being arrested by Deputy U.S. Marshal Sam Gerard decides to take a
dive out of this sewage pipe/dam into this very, very, very long drop into the
water below and where the art comes into it; is where much later on we have
this same action as it is also same St. Patrick's Day Festival including this nearby river which has been
turned green for the day.
The
character developments and the performances: the character developments are
solidly good versions of what they are meant to be. The performances of this
cast are generally speaking likewise solidly good versions of what their
character types are meant to be. But what really does help this film is
individually or together a partnership of Ford and Jones; of someone that
doesn't want to get caught until he has the evidence that he needs to clear his
name whilst the other as I have already referenced is the cream of the crop of
his field.
This film receives: 7/10, this film is good; it starts very quickly at the
beginning and at the end we have the beginning of the ending credits starting
over this ending scene and then going to black; this is one of those films that
if you have seen it before, it is well worth a watch and it has so many awards
accredited to its name. 13 Winners that include Academy Awards, USA 1994 Oscar
Best Actor in a Supporting Role Tommy Lee Jones. Nominees 37 from the same
award ceremony/event Best Picture Arnold Kopelson, Best Cinematography Michael
