There is another:
after this undercover CIA mission partly goes south in a big way as their key
CIA Agent in CIA Agent Kevin Pope as undercover Michael Turner, but with a
stroke of luck he has an twin brother which they were separated as babies and
adopted into different lives Kevin was one of the best in his field whilst his
brother Jacob "Jake" Hayes/Mr Hayes [all characters are performed by
Chris Rock] is from the street running is only little frowned upon ticket
touting business called "Big Tout Tickets." He is approached by a CIA
Agent Oakes [Anthony Hopkins] after a little bit of negotiation Mr Hayes
accepts this life threatening mission. The pacing of this 116 women film is
good as it knows what it is doing and sticks to plan.
I am fully aware that some people
are going to take this the wrong way and I don't mean it; with the negative
connotations attached to it, but it is what it is and I can't do anything about
that.
The fundamental frame of this film
is Caucasian CIA Agent, meets wisecracking, intelligent in his own right and
hustling African-American from a completely different world to the status
and luxuries of a CIA Agent standard of
life [two worlds joining forces for the bigger picture and coming to like and
respect one another; that character development between this partnership.]
We have this training montage
including comedy where if Mr Hayes doesn't get up on time he gets water thrown
on him by CIA Agent Oakes, but don't worry Mr Hayes eventually gets his own
back or later on Michael Turner breaks the fourth wall as he looks down the
camera to subliminally put across am paraphrasing here; She is hot, so on
Rock's face is an uncomfortable look as he is completely out of his depth. He
wants to stay faithful to his long-term girlfriend Julie Benson [Kerry
Washington.] But he is going to have to somehow avoid Turner's
ex-girlfriend Nicole's [Garcelle
Beauvais] affections. As it relates to the action sequences these are solidly
good, mostly mixed with comedy woven into them.
Character developments and
performances; to begin with they are all good minus these two, because I have
already spoken about the character developments I just have to say this here; I
have to give high praise to Anthony Hopkins and Chris Rock for their excellent
chemistry and consequently without these two this film would have very easily
fallen on its face.
This film receives: 7/10, this film is good; as I have just said the
partnership of Anthony Hopkins and Chris Rock make this film, so if you are a
fan of one or either of these performers and you haven't seen this film yet,
this is one of those films that you could get a take-a-way out and be
pleasantly entertained for roughly 2 hours.
