Comments: as I have already indicated this match is
good, it is a solidly good match/match slot , I know there is an inverted
atomic drop by Luger that looks a bit sloppy, but in fairness and balance does
carry Brian from one corner performing the 10 punches in the corner whilst
going up on Luger; counter to Luger carrying him to almost the opposite corner
to deliver this inverted atomic drop including Luger looking really sweaty at
this point [speculation may be having grip issues or fatigue is setting in or
maybe Brian is slightly in the wrong position, which he can't help this, he
isn't the one in control at this moment in time and Luger is dealing with
things as they are.] but this does not affect my marking, because generally
speaking it doesn't look poor or an issue, but as I have already said it just
looks a bit sloppy. This is still speculation, on reflection, maybe longer had
to improvise, because maybe the idea was for him to carry Brian from one corner
to the opposite corner and sit Brian on the top turnbuckle. What leads me to
think like this is because after doing this Luger picks up to deliver maybe
another inverted atomic drop, but instead he lifts them up and put him on the
top turnbuckle to continue the match.
But we move on to the closing
stages of this match, is something I don't mind either, it does come out of
nowhere but never mind, you can have one of these endings now and again. But
and this is the important thing at least it keeps up with the momentum of this
pay-per-view.
Basic Result: the
United States Heavyweight Champion "The Total Package" Lex Luger is
still our United States Heavyweight champion.
Briefly things to know:
* Jim Ross &
Bob Caudle Commentary talks about what just happened over replay of closing stages with the winner's entrance
music playing
