DC's Batwoman [Season 3,] Episode 50: We're All Mad Here by AverageMansReviews

Review Time:

5 things about this episode

Warning: there is flashing/other effects/medical/shooting/drugs/suffocation/scarring/vomiting

I am happy absolutely delighted that this is the penultimate episode: Action, Storyline, Character [Character developments] and bloopers; these combined in one way or another. Beth Kane/Alice enters Wayne Enterprises [we meet her in a opening elevator with a cricket bat in her hand and a member of security  which has obviously felt her wrath,] with her taking out more of security including shooting looking for this enjoyment buzzer which used to belong to Jack Napier a.k.a. The Joker [just to cover my back yes it is Jack Napier and not Arthur Fleck, I can tell this because of his appearance as face paint, clothing and so on in this episode.]

I will have two at some point in the future make another blog about more or less these three seasons very much pushing their agendas. But adamantly sticking to the narrative of Beth Kane or Beth Kane/Alice being this evildoer and in short I have never condoned what she has done or going to do, but she isn't out and out evil, her family have let her down every opportunity they get including in this episode where Dr. Hamilton says " I don't have a sister." first blooper she has two stepsisters, so she has at least a sister/stepsister ; Kate Kane [but to be fair she apologised later on in this episode, that is after Dr. Hamilton finds out that Beth Kane/Alice takes a hit for her in her life,] but she said this and other things in this dialogue exchange two harm Beth Kane/Alice mentally, when Beth Kane/Alice is at this point critically unstable and needing someone to be there for her and on top of that you have without giving too much away everyone choosing to assist Wilder or Wilder/Batwoman with her family situation as it relates to this enjoyment buzzer.

I mean what really does get up my nose is there is no conflict within these characters as in Beth Kane/Alice isn't out and out evil yes she has done terrible things, but apologies for repeating myself but her family left her behind and in fairness and balance Wilder's family member is in a similar bus as it relates to this one situation that changed their entire life and it does get covered in this episode. But then again I suppose it does help when you have girlfriend and a sidekick battling for you in your corner as well doesn't it.

The second blooper; Barbara Kean against her will [face/head mask connected to this machine which has 7 clinical trials worth of medication which didn't work,] so she inhales, she foams out of the mouth, looking like she is dead, with her not breathing and our evildoer giving this standard parting message of say hello to enter name here or something roughly to that effect. You think she would be dead, but you would be wrong because sometime later Wilder/Batwoman takes off this apparatus and somehow she is alive, yes I live taking 7 clinical trials of medication that didn't work all at once, so it is going to be a lethal dosage including forcing you to foam out of the mouth; yes of course you're going to still be alive after a significant amount of time being left like that, that is so normal right... Not! But at least she vomited after being released, with using that logic she will be absolutely fine... Once again not! Yes we don't know what happens to her after this situation, but she should be dead anyway.

This episode receives: 5/10, this episode is mixed; on reflection I couldn't give or take anything less away, because on one hand it really, really, really push the narrative that Beth Kane/Alice deserves happiness and likewise really, really, really puts mental health under the bus. Whilst on the other hand this episode has consistently positives to it as well, so after everything is said and done this mark is a fair outcome.
