Warning:
there is flashing effects/colourful
effects/shooting/stabbing/decapitation/disposing of a body/choking/drugs/man on
woman violence/torture/drowning/comedy of a dark nature
Storyline: it is generic; it is one of those films that begins
very near to the end and goes back with the words " Two days earlier"
on screen and on top of that without giving too much away the ending is needed
some work as we never find out what happens to two characters individually and
I will leave it there because as I have already said I don't want to give too
much away. The pacing also feels never feels like it gets going; it just feels
like it is drifting from beginning to end with no get up and go whatsoever to
it.
Action/Comedy: there are some occasions where these two components go
hand-in-hand; warning this comedy is of a dark nature. For one example which
has be somewhat censored by me; we meet Sonny's/Jackson, dealer Money/Dorsey
[drugs and arms] and whilst they are sorting out the purchase of some marijuana
Petey/Couture has a mishap with a loaded gun which he may have thought it
wasn't loaded, because they are just lying about in fact Sunny/Jackson brings
this up with Money/Dorsey; there is adult language in this dialogue exchange
whilst they are in and dealing with this situation.
Art: there are some good looking skies at different points
during the day and night, with night scenes with many lights and so on;
likewise we have sometimes these momentarily freeze frame black-and-white with
cut out of the character type/character/performer real-life colour so for
another example we have this; these red rectangles with white capital text with
the words " The Muscle" on the left hand side with this
black-and-white field with this fence and these trees going alongside this
fence and backwards with possibly this hedge in the background on introducing a
character/performer in this case Petey/Couture in real life colour on the
right-hand side.
Characters/Performances: these characters [character developments] are following
their character types and consequently performances and on-screen chemistry; even though this is the case
roughly around the closing stages of this project and onwards; there is some
real substance and on-screen chemistry/connection in two different conversations involving
Biggs/Willis and Sunny/Jackson and or Sunny/Jackson and Vincent Long/Phillippe.
This film receives: 3/10, this film is poor; this film would have got higher on my marking system if it had a get up and go nature to it or at minimum anything like this; would have been good, because other than that it knows what it is and it sticks to it.
