Review Time
Warning: there is flashing effects/colourful effects/breaking of
the neck and suffocating
Storyline: and the pacing is good; as they clinically know what
they are doing from beginning to end [I will discuss the pacing again from a
different perspective at some point in this blog/review.]
Action/Art/Comedy: these two components sometimes go hand-in-hand in this
project; Action/Art for one example we have this Submarine trying to escape
this air to water missile in this very tight location so basically we have
Captain Ramius/Connery mentally and verbally coming up with this tactic of
turning this Submarine at the final moment so this missile hits this rock wall
instead of the Submarine.
Then
we have some very tiny elements of Action/Comedy; they are in dialogue
exchanges or comments or impressions
Action
individually; there is weapons being used, construction of a Submarine and
combat.
Art
individually; Submarines in and underwater; then we have Captain Ramius and
Ryan/Baldwin discussing things standing side-by-side on this Submarine [by the
cover of night time and everything in this sequence [as this Submarine is
slowly moving to its destination.]
Characters/Performances: including the on-screen chemistry this is all good;
this is a cast performance; meaning, because this film is rotating from
location to location back and forth [scene to scene and back again;] all these
characters/performers have to do is keep the film moving and with a consistent
energy [in a relay race is what we have here and all they have to do is keep
the baton moving;] they achieve that with confidence and ease, so much so they
make this film feel real and the filming of this film feels secondary to what
is happening at this specific time.
This
film receives: 8/10, this film is excellent; this
is one other films that you need to see once in your lifetime, I should just
point out that this film Won 1 and 2 Awards and Nominate for another 8.
