Review Time: this sequel is lots of fun
Fundamental elements: there are numbers and words on screen, voice-over elements, cultural
elements, background music, yes and no to subtitles being used when another
language is being used, slow-motion effects, quick moving effects, time jumps
and place jumps.
The movement
of this sequel feels like it is always moving swiftly picking up and then
moving somewhere else and repeating [the next paragraph will explain more,] but
for here and now it should be noted that at no stage does this film run out of
steam.
Storyline/Back story: the storyline gets split down into two sections, the first section is
where we have the main characters and the second section is where we have these
three characters in their own narrative for some time [and for those people that
have seen this film I am aware that some of our main characters go different
ways in one way or another, but let's try not to complicate things too much,
and I am trying not to give too much of the storyline away.] Moving on to the
back story; this is something that is simple yet effective it tells/shows the
viewers what it needs to in a straightforward manner.
Artistic visions/Action sequences/Comedy level: all three of these points are imaginative in their own ways be it;
the artistic visions in the main characters section this Submarine being
something more than what it is on its first appearance or this makeshift pink
balloon sequence in the second section of characters; everything about this
particular sequence is something that you should look out for when you come to
watch this sequel and speaking of things for you to look out for watch out for
this lovable yet cheeky seal and on top of that there is singing and dancing
Now on to
the action sequences just for two examples we have this giant magnifying glass
sequence and then the makeshift parachute sequence.
The comedy
level uses skits be it this counselor scene or the speed dating sequence or our
lead character eating popcorn in a depressed manner or a 007 style sequence
[where Q. gives James Bond the latest gadgets,] but this is this project's
interpretation of that and yes there are two mild elements of toilet humour;
the first is where if you look at where you have all these pigs in Red's home
in a nutshell one pig give's off the impression he has an upset tummy and the
second is simulation of relieving one's self and watch out for the snot as
well.
Character developments/Voice performances: there are two weird things about this title; this brother and sister
relationship feels weird from time to time [let's just say when or if you watch
this project you will understand what I mean here and to support what I am
suggesting the other characters in this scene put across to their audience how
weird this situation is becoming in one way or another.]
Before I
make my next point I really want to just point out that if this wasn't in this
project I really wouldn't be saying this; now without giving too much away Red
disrespects this disguise/machine and then Bomb speaks to this disguise as if
he is real now yes this is weird, but what is more weird is he is speaking to
this disguise/machine as if he is real knowing sometime soon he will have to
get inside him with other characters and not forgetting Red having this mental
imagery sequence about this situation as well.
Slightly
moving on now generally speaking there is good chemistry/friction [depending
where you are; is depending what you get.] The voice performances are all good.
This film receives: 10/10, yes this sequel does have some weirdness to it, but it is as I
have already said this sequel is lots of fun.
