Showdown in Little Tokyo 1991 by AverageMansReviews
Review Time: this film is good, this is one of those films that
knows what it is from beginning to end and it sticks to its plan.
Subtitles/Background music: the subtitles are okay they are big
and white, but there is one big problem and it would be this; now I am at least
80% sure that there are many cases where the audience has many characters using
a different language and there are no subtitles, so I am just going to say
this; use them or don't use them, you can't really go half measures on them.
The background music is a consistent theme throughout this project that is all
I can say about it really.
Cast: I like this cast they have a good chemistry and everyone knows their
characters really well, these character developments are all likable and easy
to get along with, as in the audience knows which characters are the bad guys
or the good guys and not forgetting the character that gets put in this
unpleasant situation as well.
Cultural elements: now all I am going to say in this
section is this; there is a mixture of cultural elements used in this project
[now as I have said in other reviews, I wouldn't bring up this element,] but
then again this title uses and makes references to this element in this
project, so all I am doing is basically saying this element is in this project
and I have to say they use it really well in this title.
Action sequences/Comedy level: the action sequences
are entertaining; there are many weapons being used, many different locations
and many other elements as well. The comedy level comes from the partnership of
Lundgren and Lee; these comedy elements feel very natural between these two
performers/characters.
This film receives: 70% approval, generally speaking the
subtitles and the background music are things you will have to put up with, but
putting these two elements to one side for a minute, this film is still good.
