Wild Card 2015 by AverageMansReviews

Wild Card 2015 by AverageMansReviews

Review Time: this film is hard work to watch, don't get me wrong there are some good elements but still this film is hard work to watch nonetheless.

Time thing/Mental imagery/Slow-motion effects/
Fundamental core: now I have no idea what this time thing is meant to do in this project [words on the screen over a scene] Las Vegas Nevada last December, this lengthy sequence takes place and then the opening credits begin. The mental imagery [of any description] and the slow-motion effects are both really boring, the action sequences are okay but they would have done better in my opinion without any slow-motion effects or I cannot remember if this film uses any other special-effects, but this is one of those occasions where very little special-effects would have been better.

But moving on the fundamental core to this project is really, really slow it's like you are waiting for this film to kick into another gear and minus the action-packed sequences it just doesn't feel like or look like that this film wants to move at any great speed, it took me two sittings to get through this project, because it was struggling to keep my attention this is possibly why I cannot remember everything about it or my usual decent amount.

Action sequences: there are plenty of weapons being used or combat sequences or many other things. These sequences are hard-hitting and well put together.

Jason Statham as Nick Wild and Stanley Tucci as Baby: now when these two performers/characters work off one another, I did wake up, they do have a good chemistry and their dialogue exchanges have something of great value to offer this film, Statham does okay in the lead role position [it is one of those occasions where I think Statham does okay based on the fact he doesn't have much to work with in the first place.] The storyline itself doesn't have much to it and as I have already said the fundamental core generally speaking is poor and on a side note. Michael Angarano as Cyrus Kinnick and Jason Statham together do okay working off one another.

This film receives: 28% approval, yes this film has some good elements or okay elements, but how can I put this nicely it can be so, so boring.

The Heat 2013 by AverageMansReviews

The Heat 2013 by AverageMansReviews

Review Time: this film is excellent.

Subtitles/Cultural elements/Fundamental core/
Background music/Time jump: now there are some scenes where subtitles would have been useful, even though I think one character comments on what has just been said on the telephone in one scene or in another scene she speaks a different language with another character [these scenes where this happens are just moments in the film but they are still annoying.]

The cultural elements can be seen in different ways [before I continue I would like to say this; I am just talking about this film and nothing else,] firstly our two female lead characters are from two different walks of life and secondly we have two strong female characters, the first one is trying to push her career forward in mostly a man's world or the other female character will do nearly anything to get results, including she says what she likes to whomever she likes in any manner she sees fit to do so and there are other cultural elements.

Moving on the fundamental core to this project ranges from okay to quick and confident in everything it does, don't get me wrong as I have already said it is okay, but it feels like this film needs its two lead female roles on screen for this film to become quick and confident. The background music now this particular element is a mixed bag really there are some stages where it either isn't there or is there and it is really quiet or there are some occasions where you know full well it is there and the time jump happens late in the film [two weeks later it says this on screen in one way or another.]

Ashburn/Mullins/Levy: these three characters have a very good chemistry in this project, yes Ashburn and Mullins are the main two characters, but Levy deserves a mention as well because this performer does his fair share [when he is on screen.] But for Ashburn and Mullins, their dialogue exchanges mixed in with the comedy elements are highly entertaining. Because the viewers are never quite sure what is going to be said next or what is going to happen next, until it has been said or it happens.

Comedy level: now I would like to give you an example of the comedy level, but the only problem is this; there is a very high percentage of it [off the top of my head,] I cannot say or illustrate because of its adult language or mature contents, but what I can say is this; the comedy level is great and it has a good variety in it as well.

This film receives: 80% approval, there is lots of fun in this film.

M.A.S.K. [Mobile Armored Strike Kommand] 85 -- 86 [Disc 3] Episode 30: The Lost Riches of Rio by AverageMansReviews

M.A.S.K. [Mobile Armored Strike Kommand] 85 -- 86 [Disc 3] Episode 30: The Lost Riches of Rio by AverageMansReviews

Review Time: this episode does get better the more you watch of it, so by the end of it, it ranges from good to very good.

5 things about this episode

Scott and T-Bob: now I should have pointed this out sooner, now and again I see these two characters as one point together or separate points depending on the episode in question, but in this case I am seeing these two characters as one point. Because they just irritate me in this episode, like for an example within the opening section these two characters just annoy me. But the more you watch of this episode, the more it gets confusing for me because on one hand we have T-Bob being a hero and then secondly when Scott gets asked by this character who are these people? [M.A.S.K characters are in this scene,] Scott says something to the effect of "These are friends of mine" there are other dialogue exchanges in this sequence including Scott winking at his father amongst other things.

Don't get me wrong T-Bob has shown he does have some uses, but you're basically telling me it has taken roughly 30 episodes for Scott to learn not to give his father's identity away.

Chess: there is this small chess sequence in this episode, I like it.

Split screens: first split screens we have to M.A.S.K. characters getting into their individual weapons systems/vehicles, second split screens is where we have the same two characters in one way or another putting on their masks, these split screens are back-to-back., so you may want to watch out for these split screens, because they are very good, but if you don't pay attention you will miss them.

Action sequences: they are all really good fun in this episode.

Ending message: in a nutshell it is this: don't hide in any fridges, you may suffocate and no one can hear you [in this ending message for some reason Scott and T-Bob are playing hide and seek in what seems to be a City Dump.]

I did get a little bit confused by this ending message because Scott says to T-Bob something to the effect of "You should never hide in an unused fridge" and he says other things as well. But I got thinking at some point it must have been used to end up at what seems to be the City Dump, yes there are many, many cars in this location but it still looks like a City Dump to me. But if Scott had said something to the effect of you should never hide in any fridge and his other things on top that would have made better sense as I have said in my nutshell of the ending message [I have seen this ending message many times just to make sure I have heard it correctly.]

This episode receives: 73% approval, putting Scott and T-Bob to one side I really do like the small elements in this episode, because it shows a little bit of variety and the action sequences as I have already said are all good fun.

M.A.S.K. [Mobile Armored Strike Kommand] 85 -- 86 [Disc 3] Episode 29: A Matter of Gravity by AverageMansReviews

Review Time: this episode is excellent

5 things about this episode

Chess: there is sequence where to M.A.S.K. characters are playing a game of chess.

Action sequences: these elements in this episode are really entertaining.

Scott: he says “Dad” again, but this time it is in front of another M.A.S.K. character and T-Bob comes into the scene and on top of that Matt Trakker a.k.a. Dad takes off his mask as well.

New weapon system/vehicle: an M.A.S.K. character gets a new weapon system/vehicle.

Ending message: in a nutshell it is this; never mess around with or stick your hands in a garbage disposal

This episode receives: 82% approval, it would be nice if they would stop having Scott saying "Dad" in front of people or even when there are no people around when he is on a mission, the situation in this episode it is okay-ish, but it would be nice not to hear it in mission time. But putting that to one side, this episode is excellent fun from beginning to end.

M.A.S.K. [Mobile Armored Strike Kommand] 85 -- 86 [Disc 3] Episode 28: Blackout by AverageMansReviews

Review Time: this episode is very good to excellent

4 things about this episode

Storyline: this storyline is very good; it is quick and easy to settle down with.

Scott: well he says Dad not once but I think four times amongst other things in this sequence of events, but to be fair Matt Trakker takes off his mask as well.

Action sequences: these elements are good fun.

Ending message: don't ride two people on a pushbike

This episode receives: 77% approval, this episode does hit the ground running from beginning to end, but Scott saying "Dad" when his father is on a mission; well it is becoming nails on a chalk board to me.

M.A.S.K. [Mobile Armored Strike Kommand] 85 -- 86 [Disc 3] Episode 27: Panda Power by AverageMansReviews

M.A.S.K. [Mobile Armored Strike Kommand] 85 -- 86 [Disc 3] Episode 27: Panda Power by AverageMansReviews

Review Time: this episode is average.

4 things about this episode

Storyline: well it is boring.

Pandas: the viewers will get to see many Pandas in this episode.

Voices: at some point in this episode you will see two characters of M.A.S.K. in one of their weapon systems/vehicles, so you have two characters but only one voice being used, I am sure that this is not the only time that this kind of thing happens. Because in other situations you may have many characters may be facing different ways, but in this situation we only have two characters and you can see their faces, so it makes things nice and easy to pick up on [and just for the record I did watch this scene three different times just to make sure it happens.]

Ending message: in a nutshell it is this; don't run with sticks

This episode receives: 50% approval, what can I say here; this episode is average.

M.A.S.K. [Mobile Armored Strike Kommand] 85 -- 86 [Disc 3] Episode 26: Secret of the Andes by AverageMansReviews

M.A.S.K. [Mobile Armored Strike Kommand] 85 -- 86 [Disc 3] Episode 26: Secret of the Andes by AverageMansReviews

Review Time: this episode is average.

5 things about this episode

Storyline: generally speaking I didn't like this storyline, I found to be boring.

Action sequences: any time throughout this episode where the weapon systems/vehicles are on the screen, these elements are entertaining.

Coming out of the Waterfall: now I will not discuss this element for too long, but what I will say is this; look for this entry, good imagination was shown here.

Mask: I just find this whole thing strange where the viewers have this V.E.N.O.M. character having this idea to look under an M.A.S.K. character's mask, the timing seems at least 21 episodes too late and this is another element I just didn't like.

Ending message; in a nutshell it is this; overloading the electrical circuits, it could begin a fire [in this example I think they are talking about a plug situation where you have one point of electricity and not to overload it with too many things. Because in this ending message T-Bob and Scott are talking about this massive robot in this scene and it is using too much electricity [at some point Matt Trakker comes into this situation.]

This episode receives: 51% approval, there are some elements to this episode that I liked, but there are some other elements to this episode that I really didn't like and on a side note yes you may have noticed I switch from putting three things about an episode to four things or sometimes five things depending on the episode. This is because I like variety and if there is something that should be highlighted I will say it, but no more than five things in one episode.

M.A.S.K. [Mobile Armored Strike Kommand] 85 -- 86 [Disc 3] Episode 25: The Plant Show by AverageMansReviews

Review Time: this episode does have some good elements to it, but I did find this episode a little bit boring..

4 things about this episode

Storyline: it is a little bit boring.

Rock concert: this element to this episode is good and I liked it.

Action sequences: these scenes or sequences are very good, because when they are in effect this episode kind of pulls itself together and stops being mostly boring [putting the rock concert and the action sequences to one side.]

Ending message: in a nutshell it is this; never ever get any electrical items wet, because it can short out and you will get electrocuted

This episode receives: 58% approval, don't get me wrong this episode has some good elements but from an overview perspective this episode is average to good.

M.A.S.K. [Mobile Armored Strike Kommand] 85 -- 86 [Disc 3] Episode 24: Counter-Clockwise Caper by AverageMansReviews

Review Time: this episode has many good things to look at.

5 things about this episode

Casino elements: these elements look good.

T-Bob: there are two points in this episode where this character is on the water in different ways [at some point he is in the water as well.]

Action sequences: these elements are good, in this one example we have Matt Trakker falling from a building and another M.A.S.K. character uses their mask's power to firstly catch him and secondly to aim him in the direction of this water fountain [yes he lands in this water fountain.]

Scott: well he does it again he says Dad amongst other things, but this time it is only around another M.A.S.K. character and T-Bob [whilst inside an M.A.S.K. weapon system/vehicle with the doors open and the weapon system/vehicle is in the sky.] but I have to be honest it does irritate me so much because as I have said many times now what is the point of wearing a mask if someone is going to give your identity away.

Ending message: in a nutshell it is this; put more sunscreen on after going swimming or something to that effect, but generally speaking they do talk about sunscreen being important anyway in this ending message.

This episode receives: 68%, this episode is good

M.A.S.K. [Mobile Armored Strike Kommand] 85 -- 86 [Disc 3] Episode 23: Vanishing Point by AverageMansReviews

Review Time: this episode has many things to work with.

5 things about this episode

Storyline: it hits the ground running and it is very good.

T-Bob: this character gets used as one of those children's rides, where you put a coin in and the child gets a little ride.

Split screens: this element gets used where the audience sees I think three M.A.S.K. characters having this conversation from their individual weapons systems/vehicles, the screen gets sectioned off into three sections and within these sections there are these heads on screen including some of Matt Trakker's body as well.

Action sequences: they are all good for an example I like the countdown element to one sequence.

Ending message: only carry what you can safely handle

This episode receives: 90% approval, this episode is excellent fun.

M.A.S.K. [Mobile Armored Strike Kommand] 85 -- 86 [Disc 3] Episode 22: The Secret of Life by AverageMansReviews

Review Time: this episode is average.

5 things about this episode

Storyline: well in a nutshell it is boring.

Action sequences/Fundamental core: there is a good mixture between weapons being used and rescuing some people, moving on the fundamental core to this episode is hit and miss, let me put it like this; this episode only moves quickly or at a decent speed when the action sequences are in effect, but for the rest of the time this episode it moves at a walking pace.

Cat: look for a very small sequence where a cat accidentally catches a fish in its mouth, it is a good sequence.

Ending message: the ending message is roughly this; don't play in trash bins

This episode receives: 53% approval, yes there may be some good elements in this episode, but from an overview perspective this episode is average.
