U2: Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me 1995 [Music Video] by AverageMansReviews
Review Time
Warning: there is flashing effects/colourful effects/other
effects/transformation/hit-and-run
Generally speaking the premise is: simply put first of all is we have this comic book
approach with small segments of this film; Batman Forever 1995. But when this
music video promoting movie is different is where it overlaps from one world to
the other now and again; for an example we have Edward Nygma/Riddler appearing
in this music video in animated form and as this project only going on for
about 5 minutes the framework and pacing doesn't have any time to waste as it
is just a washed of momentum from beginning to end with likewise a visual story
to tell with a kick posterior song/track.
Art
and action; the band; U2 are in this video in one way or another, yes if you're
wondering with the classic comic book strip/frame approach so they went with
the authentic comic book experience, with in hindsight I think it is safe to
say graphic novel as well as in its artistic visions as in its dark nature and
when I say dark nature I mean by its presentation and not its content even
though we have a hit-and-run it is tastefully done or as tastefully done as you
can do those kind of things.
Character
developments: what I found most interesting towards the very closing stages of
this music video was/is we see Bono [lead singer and primarily lyricist for the
band U2;] doing this Scooby Doo style of reveal to put across is he Bono or is
he the devil or is he Batman; I am guessing/speculating here he was maybe
trying to indicate; we choose who we show to the rest of the world, it may or
may not be who we are inside though; this was just my take away from this turn
of events in this music video.
This film receives: 10/10, this is top-notch entertainment; it has so much
happening in it; in one way or another that this mark was incredibly easy to
give to it and finally it has some awards accredited to it; 1 Winner MTV Video
Music Awards (VMA) 1995 VMA International Viewer's Choice: MTV Europe U2 and
from the same award ceremony/event just instead 1 Nominee Best Video from a
Film U2 Shared with: Batman Forever.
