Let's get this done: I strongly dislike
everything situated around this match, including Sami Zayn being put in this
spot incident of Chad Gable or even a mystery opponent would have been better,
the build up to this match [segments of training] and I really don't like how
things went down at this event.
They really had to devalue Walter as I have made reference to in the
connecting content; if he is the ring general then why is he consistently
talking to Zayn, it really does go against what we have been told about Walter
and indeed Imperium. Then what the hell was this whole Zayn powering up like a
DragonBall-Z character after taking quite a few powerbombs and big splashes
from the top turnbuckle; there is a thing called protecting a move such as
powerbomb especially from Walter and then the big splash, it just infuriates so
much, then we have Zayn performing this version of a brain buster on the top
turnbuckle.
When we all know that if Oh I don't know if another promotion did this
spot [Cough, Cough AEW] everyone would be outraged.
So giving Zayn in this most privileged to overthrow the longest
reigning WWE Intercontinental Champion [666 day reign,] is nothing but a
massive misstep by Triple H, basically this whole situation feels very rushed
and not given the respect it deserves. I mean if the longest reigning
Intercontinental champion in WWF/WWE history isn't worth really investing time
and energy into then why give Walter that long reign in the first place?
Because he put it back where it rightly deserves alongside the main event
Championships and then you pull this garbage. I mean if it had to be Zayn then
they should have given it more time establish things.
It is almost like they spent too much time on The Bloodline saga which
on a quick on a quick side note looks to be continuing; which I know, I know we
wanted long term storytelling, but come on you have ran this into the ground, I
mean I checked out a long time ago. I was so much more interested in Walter
with the WWE Intercontinental Championship. It must be coming through clear by
now throw my ramblings that I really was not happy with any of this situation
as it relates to Walter basically in comparison this momentous occasion/championship
drop felt like an afterthought and consequently all that is positive potential
outcomes went out of the window. So to finish off this content we had this
momentous situation end on a sour note, could you imagine if they had done this
to Cody Rhodes again.
