What I would do with AEW Collision 2023 by AverageMansReviews
Just a heads up: this is purely based on opinion
and uncertainty at the moment.
This shouldn't be a problem, in fact
it should be relatively easy to sort out:
straight off the bat cancel AEW Rampage; because of the way it was designed, it
was never going to get high viewing numbers and if it did earlier on in its
life, it was probably down to novelty. So I find it amusing when people
criticise it, because of the low numbers of viewership, whenever I see them
being used as an example of AEW not doing well. Basically Rampage for me and
yes I recorded and watch it; it was and is AEW's version of the WWF/WWE's
version of Main Event essentially and I have no doubt Tony Kahn would have a
problem with what I am saying, but I am not being arrogant here; he needs to
learn when to take some healthy criticism and went to go to war.
So in theory we would have Wednesday night AEW: Dynamite
and on Friday night Collision which in turn becomes a very interesting title
based on the grounds as things stand; they would be going up against WWE
SmackDown, which I wouldn't have a problem with. Because I know I have made
references to this at least at one point or another so far, but Khan should be
running his roster/rosters including ROH as a sports team, wearing a nutshell
you have now and again but and I can't stress this enough, but not all the time
the same names appear in on both shows. But consistently to be flanked by
different names so you can use that depth of roster so the other names
including both established names, younger talent and you know giving your
women's division frankly all your divisions but especially the women's division
space to grow and develop. On one hand I get it he wants to take on the WWE,
but this one I don't get because I am very logical and heavily streetsmart he
needs to work on the other hand; meaning on the other hand the other way to
take on your opposition is to offer something different; simply put; at this
point he needs to be going; okay let them do them and we will do us and we will
pick up lapsed fans of our own first and we will take on any other that want to
give this a go. Obviously I shouldn't have to say this; but I will anyway now
obviously when a pay-per-view comes around for the love of everything holy try
not to put them on Collision wrestling the night before, I mean once in awhile
is fine depending on what you are doing with them, but if or when you have the
option, just have them doing a talking segment or you know something or
anything not physical or you could just keep them off Collision, but I get the
need to also build up to the pay-per-view as well.
If you
want to keep Rampage: I am not
contradicting myself here, but once again this is easily solved, as I have
found out from a reliable source today that Khan is waiting for to deal with
all the upcoming TV deals in the near future as it relates to ROH as well. I
know why he doesn't do a genuine invasion angle between ROH and AEW; where by
the end of it ROH have taken over the landscape of Rampage literally to make it
ROH: Rampage, because I can't be the only one that would like to see more ROH
wrestling and giving it an hour to begin with would be a good place to start
and once everything gets settled down this shouldn't interfere with AEW.
Future
of Collision is uncertain: on the
facts; that AEW have two pay-per-views coming up back-to-back as in both
falling on a Saturday; Full Gear on Saturday 18/11/2023 and World End Saturday
30/12/2023, I know online there has been talk about Collision possibly being
scrapped or cancelled, but if Khan was to cancel Rampage and basically do what
I am suggesting with Collision going up against WWE SmackDown on a Friday as
things are, I would greatly prefer keeping a two-hour show over a one-hour show
and yes I would prefer going up against SmackDown on Friday over a WWE or NXT
Premium Live Events any day of the week. all Khan has to do is; clearly do some
restructuring, use is depth of rosters and don't worry about what the WWE are
doing, for those people out there wondering; yes I put myself in a scenario
where if I had to go up against SmackDown or any Premium Live Events; I would
take a fighting chance going up against SmackDown, I am not being arrogant here
and I am not saying Collision would be a threat to SmackDown, I am just simply
thinking taking on a Premium Live Event on a consistent basis isn't or hasn't
been a good idea, actually I would have advised against it in the circle of the
right people. Because I know very little about business, logic dictates that
taking on a WWE/NXT Premium Live Event is just a very, very tall order indeed
that I wouldn't even attempt and finally I will deal with the cancellation of
Collision if or when it becomes a fact.
