Well 1986 has a bite to it even in 2018: basically; Energyne had been performing these illegal experimentation, hence why they had to move their experimentations into outer space; on the space station to create this pathogen. But what goes up must come down as this incident takes place and now the CEO of Energyne Claire Wyden [Malin Ã…kerman:] she is a vicious business person, but just wants this scientific research back by any cost, it doesn't matter she just wants it back. She also has a spineless, snivelling brother that works for the company as well Brett Wyden [Jake Lucy:] he will do anything for money as long as he doesn't get caught or involves any form of prison sentence. There is this foursome that at one point or another gets on the same page to prevent this from happening; firstly we have Davis Okoye [Dwayne Johnson:] a former US Special Forces soldier/Special Ant-Poaching Task Forces, nowadays primatologist working with gorillas, such as looking after George [motion caption by Jason Liles:] a male albino western lowland gorilla, that was rescued by Okoye when he was very little. But in present times is in his teenager stage of life as he is very mischievous with Okoye as they can communicate [sign language] to one another. Claire Wyden /Dr. Katherine "Kate" Caldwell [Naomie Harris:] a geneticist engineer that used to work for Energyne, that is trying to repair some of the damage she has done whilst working for Energyne and finally we have Agent Harvey Russell [Jeffrey Dean Morgan:] is a gritty lone cowboy type of agent that works for the other Agency, but originally he is to capture these two, but then after Okoye saves his life realises that these two people are trying to do their best for the country.

The framework and pacing of this 107 minutes film is straightforward as it knows what it wants to do and sticks to the plan.

Comedy, Character developments and performances: the framework and pacing is built to support the storyline and these three other components. So basically we get hand gestures from George to Okoye, the male testosterone thing between Okoye and Agent Russell, Dr. Caldwell says a comment to these two or/and separately to Okoye and because I have already gave enough examples we have one character that gets squashed at some point as well and yes there are other little bits and pieces as well. The character developments are all safe and reliable versions of what they are meant to be, generally speaking the cast performances reflect their character types. But it is this foursome that makes this film a reliably good experience; so these performances are a film changes, because let's be honest without these four characters/performances this film would have been up a creek without a paddle.

Art/Action: it looks engaging, even though I am aware this film received award nominees for their artistic visions, which I will show later. I would consider this art [including the first section of ending credits look good] and action from 2018 or/and now in 2023 to be the bare minimum of what these monster film should be like, I am not being unnecessarily harshly critical here it is just when you're dealing with art or/and computer animation and action, they need to be pow or something groundbreaking or something other. Don't get me wrong these action sequences are what they needed to be; for a few examples; you get to see these giant monsters jump [to who that applies to] from building to building and taking down this building which is the entire point of the videogame Okoye with and Dr. Caldwell sitting in this heavily damaged chopper whilst this building is being demolished by these giant monsters with a giant monster vs. giant monster with Okoye getting involved.

This film receives: 7/10, this film is good; between the foursome which I have just been discussing, they make this film good and full disclosure when I originally reviewed this film some years ago I gave it a completely different mark, so I scrubbed it and came up with this one, so once in 15 years I have changed my opinion on content, so that isn't too bad. This film also has some awards accredited to its name 7 Nominees; Golden Trailer Awards 2018 Golden Trailer Best Action, Teen Choice Awards 2018 [these 3 are from the same award ceremony/event Teen Choice Awards Choice Movie: Sci-Fi, Choice Movie Actor: Sci-Fi Dwayne Johnson and Choice Movie Actress: Sci-Fi Naomie Harris.  Los Angeles Online Film Critics Society Awards 2018 LAOFCS Award Best Visual Effects or Animated Performance Jason Liles.  Hollywood Professional Association Awards 2018 HPA Award Outstanding Visual Effects - Feature Film Erik Winquist Ben Pickering Stephen Unterfranz Thrain Shadbolt David Clayton
