The
damage is done in the first 38 minutes:
basically we have this actor which has a reputation of having a bad boy image
which is richly deserved, his name is Brody Walker [Cody Hackman] and after his
latest incident he has two choices; the first is basically this kind of
community service/ride along with David Hendrix [Dominic Purcell] police
officer/recently sidelined SWAT unit
leader psychologically not cleared to resume his unit is called
"SRT5" one of the members of this unit is Gina [Trish Stratus] which
Hendrix takes Walker to go when introduced him to them and show him around this
secure location which whilst they are there is under attack.
The pacing of this 113 minutes film is tiresome, I base
that on in the first 38 minutes we get a lot of background details and so and
so forth, where yes we had Walker being the comical character for some of it
and then Hendrix having to punch Walker to safely save him from being the
hostage in this hostage situation. But when we get into the secure location under
fire this film settles down and yes we still have some comical bits here and
there, but the film moves and has a better structure to it.
The action is plentiful; plenty of guns or weapons and
combat; these are solidly entertaining and likewise the character developments
and the performances are solidly good character and performances.
This
film receives: 4/10, this film is mixed; I mean
in theory this project could have been a solidly good projects, but because of
the 38 minutes at the beginning it just put the rest of the film in a massive
hole to get its self out of, this film also has one extra sequence in the first
lot of ending credits. But in fairness and balance this film has two Winning
awards accredited to its name Canadian Society of Cinematographers Awards 2017
CSC Award Best Cinematography in TV Drama Pasha Patriki (cinematographer) and
Toronto After Dark Film Festival 2015 Audience Award Best Action Film Bruno
Marino (producer) Allan Ungar (director)
Hackybox Pictures (production company) High Star
Entertainment (production company) so what do I know.
