Review Time

Warning: there is flashing effects/colourful effects/shooting/stabbing/disfigurement/transformation.

Assemble for the first time: Loki [Tom Hiddleston] uses or Dr. Erik Selvigthe [Stellan SkarsgÄrd] to build this machine so he can use the Tesseract to open a portal to bring the Chitauri army through to enslave its inhabitants of Midgard [Earth,] so Loki can rule. But the Director S.H.I.E.L.D [Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division] Nick Fury [Samuel L. Jackson] presses the green button on the Avengers Initiative, now only if they can on one hand show up and on the other hand get along long enough to save Midgard [Earth.]

The pacing for this 143 minute film is fluently good, it doesn't have to be anything spectacular, it just has to be as I have already said fluently good, is because we are dealing with so many big characters like Steve Rogers/Captain America [Chris Evans,] Dr. Bruce Banner/Hulk [Mark Ruffalo] and I know this is a cast performance, I am just pointing out two characters here to make this point that they obviously wanted to give some time to each character on screen in smaller pairings or numbers so it gives these characters and performances space and time to breathe and for the chemistry to go back and forth.

So when it comes to the beautifully chaotic action sequences. The viewers can feel this naturally earned chemistry for two examples when Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow [Scarlett Johannson] asks Steve Rogers/Captain America I am paraphrasing here for a leg up so she can hi-jack this Chitauri vehicle weapon system/soldier to get to somewhere else, she takes a little run-up and Steve Rogers/Captain America uses his shield like a Super Mario Bros Trampoline with Steve Rogers/Captain America Acting like the spring with Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow jumping; so it has these three steps running,  spring and then jump or for a bit of comedy we have Dr. Bruce Banner/Hulk punching Thor [Chris Hemsworth,] just because he wanted to get in the last punch of when they went head to head previously in this film; yes Hulk is very much the snotty teenager of this new-found dysfunctional family and yes I just have to quickly make reference to the infamous and legendary sequence where  Loki in short is giving angry passionate speech I am better than you that kind of thing so Dr. Bruce Banner/Hulk picks him up by his feet and  basically rag dolls him [treat him like a rag doll] slamming him down from side to side, by the end of this Loki is laying in this shallow crater stuck in this one position with this shocked expression with Dr. Bruce Banner/Hulk saying as he walks away "Puny god." We can hear Loki functionally breathing as his brain and body are still stuck in this crater dealing with the impact of what he has just felt, as to illustrate this was incredibly quick and incredibly painful even for a god this was sensory and information overload. The art which brings all of this to life from a visual perspective is highly engaging with wonderful imagination and of the highest creativity in fact this film has Won or Nominee awards because of this BAFTA Awards 2013; BAFTA Film Award Best Special Visual Effects Janek Sirrs Jeff White Guy Williams Daniel Sudick and/or Academy Awards, USA 2013; Oscar Best Achievement in Visual Effects Janek Sirrs Jeff White Guy Williams Daniel Sudick.

Character developments and performances; well this is what the MCU [Marvel Cinematic Universe] does a high percentage of them of their character developments in their previous film titles is in Phase 1 have been leading up to this point so it has been a long-term plan, which consequently means they are all roughly around the same stage, I mean on top of this anyway we get some character developments from Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow S.H.I.E.L.D Agent Clint Barton/Hawkeye [Jeremy Renner] on a brief side note they got nominated for an award; People's Choice Awards, USA 2013; People's Choice Award Favorite On-Screen Chemistry Scarlett Johansson Jeremy Renner, but back to our regularly scheduled programming Dr. Bruce Banner/Hulk In this film and obviously everyone that is going through this situation has character development anyway, I just wanted to point out that Phase 1 projects has been leading up to this point. Yes II did say roughly around the same area of character developments, you want them in the same area, but you don't want them all exactly the same to the specific point, because if they are slightly at different points it is easier to build natural chemistry be it on the same page or friction moments or anything you want to do really. By the way if you're wondering what happens when the character developments are not anywhere near in the same or similar or ballpark I am just going to leave this here; Justice League 2017 Link https://averagemansreviews2017.blogspot.com/2018/12/justice-league-2017-by.html I haven't seen the other version yet Zack Snyder's Justice League 2021, but in the interest of fairness and balance the 2017 version has a 6.1/10 and the 2021 version has 8/10 on IMDb [I have to point out when this was first dictated.]

But even though I have been fair and balanced it is still a valid point that it takes the MCU one film to bring all of its heavy hitters [at this point in its history] together whilst it takes the DCEU [DC Extended Universe/or their other name Worlds of DC one film, but two versions and 4 roughly years apart.] I do have a DVD version of the 2021, but I don't know when I'm going to want it, because  I have content to create, amongst other things and no I am not making any excuses, but there is once again a very valid  point, when the 2021 version is roughly over 4 hours long, So when or if I was to watch it; would take up potentially a night and a day, It is difficult to say, because I haven't seen it, so if I say night and day as a general prediction I can't go wrong, but having said this for me to spend four hours or more watching the film, it is going to be hard work because it isn't like going to be in the round of Lord of The Rings [any one of the three film titles] or something like that [ this is speculation on my part] where it has so much to offer that it makes the timing feel much shorter, I am just using pre-existing knowledge and experience of the 2017 version, I acknowledge and quite clearly see that the 2021 version is statistically much better then the 2017 version based on the statistics I have already made reference to, but it is down to time.

But I slightly digress back to this film; as I have already referenced this is a cast performance, everyone just gels fluently together and sets a incredibly high standard for the rest of the MCU Phases to follow.

This film receives: 10/10, this film is top-notch entertainment; back in the day everyone wondered what something this massive would look like and we need wonder no more as the MCU has just gone from strength to strength ever since, well it actually started with the first title in the MCU Iron Man 2008, but as it relates to a massive crossovers this has/had set the bar for future crossovers to aim for and equal. Yes this film has a total of 36 Winner and 80 Nominee awards accredited to its name; Winner Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror Films, USA  Best Supporting Actor Clark Gregg [as S.H.I.E.L.D Agent Phil Coulson] Nominee Empire Awards, UK  Empire Award Best Director Joss Whedon [full disclosure; he did win some awards for this film as well, but I needed a nominee for this bit and he wrote the screenplay for this project] for some strange reason I found this award under this title as well; I am not criticising the actual award itself, I am just wondering why it is here in the first place. BET Awards 2013; Nominee Best Actor Samuel L. Jackson For Django Unchained and one very final thing there are two extra scenes at the end of each ending credits.
