Review Time
Storyline/Characters/Performances: now in one way or another these three components go hand-in-hand. The
best place for me to start is by saying; I know, I know this film is a
Christmas film, but does it really have to hit the Christmas component so hard
[I am not being a humbug,] but man this film hits the Christmas component hard
to a nauseating level.
So with that
being said the storyline, character developments, performances and the
on-screen chemistry reflect all this from the very beginning crystal clearly.
The on-screen chemistry is good [yes it is cheesy,] but still good. This film
does much better when it pulls back on hitting the Christmas component so hard,
it makes this film better to digest and the pacing is likewise better as well;
it feels more free-flowing as if it wasn't being squashed by the heavy usage of
the Christmas component, but having said that I should just point in the final
section until the end of this film it does somewhat retreat back into this; yes
not so hard but can tell the difference between before this and during the
final section until the end of the film.
Action/Comedy/Art: there are some occasions where all three of these components go hand-in-hand; I will give you one example;
now without giving too much of this film away basically in a quick description
we have our lead character/performer Dax/'The Miz' Mizanin throwing this NFL
American football at this other character/performer but it accidentally hits
another character/performer; the camera shot perspective for a moment; it is
where we the viewers get to sit on this NFL American football on its journey
its original target dodging enough out of the way so it hits someone else
squarely in the forehead.
Action;
individually there is combat, weapons being used and this obstacle course.
Comedy;
individually this old person retirement home where in a nutshell these old
frisky women wouldn't do exercise unless Dax/'The Miz' Mizanin takes off his
shirt first and even then this happens things don't get much better [in this
scene as well when things don't look to be going too well; one of the old men
asked "May be she should take her shirt off?" [Billie/McCord] and
there are other comedy either a consistent theme or bits and pieces in this
film.
Art;
individually there are these Christmas decorations and so on by day or by night
with lights on or these portrayed paintings, this younger version of Dax's
engraved rocket with his name on it/inside it on this wooden bench and a tiny
amount of good-looking scenes be them by night or by day as well.
This film receives: 4/10, this film is mixed; it has enough to be in the mixed and not in
the poor section of my marking system, but I did find this film hard work to
watch and one final thing this film has WWE's Paige as Eleanor the The Miz's
wife and WWE's Maryse in it as Biker Chick.
