American Ninja 2: The Confrontation 1987 by AverageMansReviews

Review Time: this film is good

Motorbikes sequence/Cultural elements/
Background music/Fundamental core: the motorbikes sequence [throughout the opening credits,] it consistently changes perspectives from where the driver is sitting [so the audience can see what he is seeing to a different perspective [and whilst I am on the subject I cannot remember if I said this with the first American Ninja 1985, but this film title has a similar style to beginning that film title,] but I don't think I made reference to it because it wasn't that interesting to be honest with you, but this opening sequence as some good elements to it which I have just pointed out.

Now there is a cultural element to this project, but it isn't as noticeable as it was in the previous film title, in a nutshell in this film there is no need for subtitles, moving on the background music well how can I put this politely; the viewers will know every time it is being used. The fundamental core is something reliable, I mean it is nothing special, but having said that it doesn't do anything wrong either.

Character developments: these character developments are mostly really straightforward.

Steve James as Sgt. Curtis Jackson: at least this performer/character seems to be interesting and easy to get along with in this sequel as this character is sensible or enthusiastic to begin or continue a fight or now and again he does have some comical moments [this character development has a good mixture to it.]

Action sequences: these elements are entertaining, there could weapons being used or combat sequences or something else.

Storyline/Memory recall/Science-fiction element: the storyline is okay, the memory recall with voice-over from a character that was in the previous film title is a little bit strange, based on the fact this entire thing happens late on in this project, the science-fiction element is a good touch and it does make sense.

This film receives: 60% approval, everything about this project holds well together [minus the background music] I understand why it is there, but did they have to use it so much, Steve James makes a big impact on to this sequel, his character is lively, but he also has the ability to create some positive momentum for this sequel to work off, yes I did say the fundamental core does nothing special, but it also does nothing wrong either, his performance/character developments just give this film a push forward now and again.
